278 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 OK so got the shee mached up and I was going to break in the motor, but when I started it and let it run for a minute or 2 I noticed the left cylinder had more gray looking smoke out of the exhaust and the exhaust on that side is cold so once I gave it a little gas Its like it cuts out... can you guys help me as to what it could be Quote
tirekicker Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 OK so got the shee mached up and I was going to break in the motor, but when I started it and let it run for a minute or 2 I noticed the left cylinder had more gray looking smoke out of the exhaust and the exhaust on that side is cold so once I gave it a little gas Its like it cuts out... can you guys help me as to what it could be I have had similar problems before check and make sure your slides are in facing the correct way, notch to the air filter side(chances are if it was running a couple minutes with out this isnt the issue.. but worth checking), but when I first mocked mine up, the thing would run rough as shit.. turned out that was the issue.. and also make sure the choke tube linking the carbs is intact I accidentally knocked mine off except my right cylinder wouldnt fire correctly.... 278 Posted March 10, 2009 Author Report Posted March 10, 2009 I figured it could be the slide but im pretty sure I checked them before I put them in... but ill re-check I was thinking it could be the air/fuel screw or the high idle screw, just wanted to get some insight that might help Quote
AKheathen Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 what does the plug look like? the one side could've just fouled. check your slides and sync them. you may have to play with the needles and airscrews to get it dialed in Quote
