hey guys i have a 1998 and a 2001 banshees. The 1998 banshee has alot of compression but it starts in 10 kicks in summer time!! it has been rejeted by a certified mechanic and its still starting hard. There was a missing piece in the carbs but we bought it and still the same thing! We cleaned the carbs all over and they were newly synchronized. We also put a brand new choke because the old one didnt come out fully. Everything is okay! But its starting realy hard!! I dont know what to do with it anymore! It has original carbs, wiseco pistons, new spark pluges, k&n air filter, orginal cdi box, and fmf pipes and silencers, and twist throttle! What can be the problem thats causing it to start sooo hard???

Well, first things first, list your current jetting, (mains and pilots) so that we can help you determine wheter or not you have the right jetting in the first place. Some of the "mechanics" lately have been retards... Whats your elevation and outside temperature?

He didnt really tell us what jets he put in it! Cause as soon as we got it from the shop it was hard to start!! and the mechanic started it for us!! MY elevation is 3440 feet. The temp is around 15-19 Celcius

how did he start it?
He just kept on kicking it until it started with the choke on and the gas off. He didnt turn it over so the gas from the carbs would come out or push it or anything like that! He just started it normally like u would start a banshee OOO by the way he didnt give it any gas ( ON the throttle) to help it

when it's properly adjusted, you should be able to just kick it once or twice if it's warm. The choke is just for cold. what part was missing?

I have come to the conclusion that not many mechanics can work on banshees,so crack into them carbs and let us know whats in there, second how do you know it has that much compression are you taking his word for it,have you ever put a top-end in ,head milled, things like that, let us know

ITs what the dealership told us! IM not too sure, U know how the dealerships lie alot, But when we bought it from the dealership, the guy said that he put new pistons into it and he had papers to prove it! He said that if we dont believe him, he could of done a compression test, but my dad didnt want him to do the compression test because my dad believed him but i didnt! I will take a peak in the summer time because right now i dont want to take them completely off and work on them in the house, cause i then have to synchronize them, and u probably know how much pain in the but is to synchronize the carbs of a banshee. If it keeps on doing this and there is no solution that we can think of then i will take the carbs off my 01 banshee and put them on the 98 and see what happens! But it should start with the carbs of the 01 banshee cause the 01 starts rely easy, and i have not started the 01 banshee in 5 months and when i went to kick it over it started 1 kick LOL The 01 Has that much compression

He said the part that was missing was having to do with a needle.

Yopu need to start with a compression test, find someone who has one just so we know what we are dealing with, you dont take the carbs off to sync them, there is a great how to video on this site not sure where ,

The compression of it is 119 PSI For both pistons
