ryansedy Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Just broke a piston on my '99 banshee...its been ported with the stock crank. So i can get a welded 4mil crank cheap from a guy i know, but ive read that after you port it with the stock crank, you cant goto the 4mil. how true is this? and if i put the 4mil in, is there just some small porting i can do to make it work right? bansheefreak Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 it will run but not run right... you will need to put a stroker plate under the jugs to raise the ports... Quote

sled Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 thats all i have to do is put the plate in? and everything will line up right? I would call an engine builder and get your jugs checked out. sometimes you can still have them ported again to match a 4mill depending on what kind of port job you got the first time. I would try not to use a spacer plate. if they can port your jugs for the 4mill i would get that done and have the stock head cut for the stroker or get a noss head with cut domes. Quote
