trex banshee Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Ive got a customers bike that i started workin on tonight and I noticed all these extra wires. Well after following them they run to some type of regulator or rectifier thing. Its about 1 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inch aluminum box about 1 inch thick. It has a orangeish/brown wire and a purple wire coming out of it. Also on the stator their are 7 wires coming out of it and the green and red wire coming from the stator are cut and switched before they go into the plug in. Everyone ive ever built only has 6 wires. What the hell is this? My plan is to just modify the wiring harness just like ive done everyother banshee but id figure id ask before i go cut it all up. Thanks Quote
trex banshee Posted February 27, 2009 Author Report Posted February 27, 2009 Ok I believe ive figured it out. I did some searcing and from what i found its been converted to DC at one time but it isnt anymore, none of these wires were hooked up and there is no battery. So now my question is, can i just tape the end of the 7th wire coming out of the stator up and wire the bike like I have the rest of them? Quote
Snopczynski Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 So it was converted to dc? Or, is it a dual output stator? Quote

AKheathen Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 I believe it had been converted to DC at one time, i had just never seen that before and was confused as to what all the extra wiring and rectifier was for. pull the flywheel and see if the stator is grounded, and has 3 outputs, or if it looks like someone added the wire to the stator. if it's the latter, then you will have to ground the extra wire, and install a normal regulator if you want to run it ac. is the problem no lights, or are you just cleaning it up? I got rid of all of it and its back to normal now. Thanks for the help. Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 banshees didnt come with a battery and should stay that way!! Quote

Snopczynski Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 banshees didnt come with a battery and should stay that way!! So a 150 hp drag banshee with nos that has to use a battery, shouldn't have one? What about a battery fired drag ignition? I disagree with this, I like having a battery, it works out rather well for me and everyone I ride with. My lights never get dim, they are very bright all the time, and when we sit on the sand at night I can keep my underbody leds on so no one hits us. Quote
