Well I started my bike up with the air filters and pro circuits, I put in a 27.5 pilot, a 320 main and needle 3rd clip but it runs like shit at 1/2-3/4 throttle, runs great on top and bottom end. I am assuming that means the needle possition is wrong (or because they are bent a little) I am waiting on new needles but it didnt run like this before I piped it. I want to do a plug chop but there is nowhere around here that I can do it at. Anyone know any methods that will get me in the ballpark that I can use without a long ass runway? Thanks.

Ok guys I am going back to stock, I think I am going to sell my pro circuits and put a stock airbox back on. The banshee fired up started running then I went to take off on it and try a plug chop and it back fired and quit I don't have time to mess with this piece of shit so I am putting back to stock and dealing with the shitty performance it had. Any of you michigan guys know anyone who will tune a quad? I dont have the patience for this shit and I dont have the money to pay 60 dollars an hour for a stealer ship to do it, Oh BTW I tried the 310 mains and that didnt work either.

Man I get pissed to easy to own a twin on top of everything else the idle screws started backing out so now I have that to deal with. well I am gonna go bitch and moan about this shit until I figure out what I am gona do. Later.

did u put the slides in the right carbs? and what needles you said you got? it just takes time it took me 2 weeks just to get mine tuned after taking the tors off. just gotta keep working on it and keep your kool. you get pissed or to mad walk away and drink a beer smoke a cig or whatever and come back after you kool down. there a major pain in the ass but welll worth it in the end. good luck buddy!

X2 I don't have much patience with my shee either. Had an issue with getting the silencer back together after i put new packing in, after about the 14th try I ended up chucking the entire thing over my girlfriends head (which she didn't appreciate to much) and accross the yard.

After a slight ass chewing from my girl I calmed down and got it the first try.

It's easier to just walk away, these things are way to much fun to give up on.

How cold is it there?? It's about 20 degrees here and I'm running fatty's and pod's, my jetting is at 330 mains 27.5 pilot air screws 1.25 turns out and is almost dead on.

Before i had it started this winter i had 320's in, and it was a tad lean in this cold. I would imagine 310's would be pretty lean

Your bent needles may also have something to do with your problem

Yeah you guys are right, I think I am gonna put it up till spring. I get pissed too easy I dont know if I put the right slides in., does that matter? I adjusted the carbs so the slides both lift at the same time . The only thing that has me really fucked up is why is it backfiring now? lean or rich? Also the idle adjustments what are those supposed to be at? I really am considering trading this thing for a Tri-Z These twins are a bitch to tune man, My respect level for all you guys that tune these went up like 80% this morning. I think I am gonna buy some 280's - 300's because before I piped it and put the filters on it had 200's and ran great I think I should be at like 280 main right now. Does that sound right?

Most of us understand the frustration that comes with these machines.

Backfiring is a sign of lean jetting, what mains do you have in right now?? Are you running pods? You may even want to try your needle on the 4th clip, because you said your problem seems to be at 1/2 -3/4 throttle.

I have the exact same bike as you, mine came stock with 200's also and ran like a raped ape. If you are running the stock airbox w/ K&N you would prolly be at 280-290 mains, i really think you should try 330's if you have pod's.

I think that the new needles and bigger mains will fix your problem.

Think if I put the needle on the 4th clip and put a 320 in that might help? I will buy a 330 tomorrow. Maybe my pilot is a tad small too because I noticed it only died completely when I let the rpms drop I will fuck with it a bit more then I will post a video of it running maybe you guys can better diagnose the problem?

It's worth a shot, your pilot should be plenty big enough. What are your air screws set at?? I'd suggest 1.5 turns out.

A video could help, give us a more hands on look.

I put the 320's back in and moved my needles to the 4th clip, it runs now but I have shitty power down low and at the top I am thinkin I am small on the main and pilot jets so I will get my new ones and go from there. I did ride her to a buddies house so I didnt have to walk I still had fun.

Edit: BTW my air screw is 1 1/4 turns out my elevation is around 330 ft and my shoe size is 12 1/2 and I prefer sex in the reverse cowgirl position while drinking a beer and watching crusty demons of dirt......So with all of those variables what would you say my pilot should be at?

When you say you have "shitty" power, what exactly do you mean? Revving high and fast and not moving that fast or boggy and flat with not much pull? And where exactly does that shitty power come on?

30 pilots will be too fat, 27.5's will suffice.

By shitty power I mean I have to clutch the hell out of it to bring it into the powerband otherwise it will stall, it bogs like a mofo from get go, then about half throttle it picks up till about 3/4 then it falls on its face unless I shift it and wait till the 1/2 throttle mark in next gear. Bogs top and bottom basically, think it might be too small on the main causing that? And too big of a pilot?

Talk to you tomorrow I am off to bed.

Sounds like your rich now, i think the needles need to be at the third clip. I'd wait and put your new needles in, I think that has alot to do with your problem. Does your banshee idle on it's own?? If you turn your air screws in and you get a snappier throttle response and less bogging, you may want to go back down to 25 pilots.

for the slides ? is when you did the carbs did you keep the caps seperate the hole time. meaning did you keep the right cap with the right carb and the left cap with the left carb. this will really affect your power ALOT. mine wouldnt idle worth a shit and would go but feel like it wouldnt have much of a power band. best way to tell is on stock carbs theres the window you can see the dot on the side of the slides thru(more of a black hole then a small dot). the side of the slide that has the dot should be on the same side as the window. i noticed this and swapped em out and omg i had my shee back.lol hope this helps you out man. and yes its hard to get em but afterwards you will gains alot of knowledge and be suprised the next time around with something similair.lol

did you mean turn them out? in=richer

did you have your needle 4th clip from the top or bottom? what's the smallest size you have, other than the 200? drop your needle a few clips leaner, (tward the blunt end) put the 310's in, unless you have 300's, set the airscrew at 1.5, and warm it up. adjust the airscrew in or out, 1/4 turn at a time, allowing 10-20 seconds for the idle to adjust, untill it idle the highest. ride around for a couple min, and you may have to go 1/4 turn in or out after that. being rich on the idle circut will effect the needle for a few seconds, untill the engine has a chance to clean up
