Adjusting the Idle Screws

IS the idle too high?, to low? They basically need to be adjusted the same amount, but if you want to make sure they're right, you need to start from scratch and synchronize the carbs first, and then with both idle screws set at their lowest setting (slides all the way down) you need to play with each screw back and forth to find the point where it just barely is ready to pick up the slide. Do this to both and when they're both at the same point, adjust both the exact same # of turns (I think just 1 or 2) and start the motor, and see if it's too high or too low. Adjust both screws up or down, the exact same amount a little at a time, until you get it where you want it. If the "tors" kicks in and kills the motor like a kill switch, when you take your thumb off the throttle, adjsut the throttle cable at the throttle housing (usually in).

You could also buy a carb sync tool for $50 and that kind of takes the guess work out of it.I would start by taking the air box off so you can see what your doing

then bottom out slides ,move each side up the littlest bit,pullthrottle to see if slides are coming up and down at same time once thats set try to start it,keep it running with throttle turn each screw same amount till idle holds,fine tune from there
