Michael Jackson Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 anyone ever tried the Tusk case saver from rocky mountain? their shit is usually pretty good, and cheap Quote
THE GRIM RIPPER Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Come to think of it.... I have never seen a tusk case saver? Are they billet or that Delron that TM Design works uses? Quote
Michael Jackson Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 they are billet 6061 with stainless bolts, $25 Quote
THE GRIM RIPPER Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 they are billet 6061 with stainless bolts, $25 Buy it.... What the fuck right? Its a case saver, if it works right your hoping IT gets destroyed, not your case. No sense in spending anymore than $25 for a piece like that, especially when its made outta the same shit the rest are made out of. I think I spent like $45 on my DG one... :: Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 billet is bad news bears. Quote
lastnline75 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 billet is bad news bears. hey loco what kind of case saver are you running on that yfz 450? Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 hey loco what kind of case saver are you running on that yfz 450? none, why? Quote
lastnline75 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 none, why? just wondering if i should put one on the wifes yfz Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 just wondering if i should put one on the wifes yfz i wont tell you not to, but i dont run one on mine. the stock one is a plastic sprocket guard over a metal, cheap looking case saver. i took all that nonsense off. Quote
THE GRIM RIPPER Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Why no go on the billet Loco? Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Why no go on the billet Loco? billet case savers have a tendency to go ahead and break your cases once the chain snaps or whatever. plastic is more absorbent than metal. the plastic will soak up more of the shock. the billet will just transfer it. Quote
BlntdEyez Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Because the billet ones wont absorb the impact from the chain, Like the plastics ones do. They just transfer the force into the cases. Quote
lokisbuddy Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Can I wait on my tm case saver? I dont have the cash for one right now, How often do chains break/come off? Keep in mind I am riding a stock bike with pro circuit platinums and pod filters Oh and I have some hinson stickers too. Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Because the billet ones wont absorb the impact from the chain, Like the plastics ones do. They just transfer the force into the cases. youre obviously just as smart as me, just not quite as fast. Quote

I guess I could see that.... But my thinking is the shitty little 1/4 thread (if that) bolts that secure it to the case, would break before the case. But the delron ones are def. a good way to go all things considered Quote
