twizted269 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 i was givin a used clutch cover which i sand blasted and got ready to paint. i noticed what looks to be a hairline crack leading from the water pump toward the center of the clutch. its about a half inch long. i cant see it on the inside. think its salvagable or toss it? im guessing toss it. What's the worst that could happen if the crack DOES spread?? You could get it penetrant tested to see if it's really cracked tho.Any machine would probly do it free of charge Quote

That's what I had to do, before I polished it. im thinking your right on the money. i looked real close on the inside and cant see anything in that area but there is alot that look the same everywhere else in there. well if it is a crack and leaks, gives me a reason to get a nice aftermarket one. 2001Stroker Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 It doesn't take much to get them out. I got mine out with sand paper. Put it face down in the sink, and fill it up with water. See if it leaks any out. Quote
