I know I am probably over thinking this but how much difference do you think there is between these two tires. I'm thinking by the time you squeeze a 12-inch wide tire on an 8-inch rim it will be about the same height. Also if you are running the standard Douglas wheel what wheel thickness are you running?

Well I am currently running 21x12x8 10 Paddles , and although they work pretty well, I think my next set is going to be 22x11x8 9 Paddles ...

You are right it thinking that the 12" wide on a 8" wide wheel crowns the top of the tire, and I don't really like that effect, I think the paddles might be more "efficient" if left at a more horizontal profile ...

Maybe that helps ...

The larger diameter floats better. I only recomend 22" or larger tires for duning.

Is this recommendation pre-box-o-wine or post?

I'd go with the 22" tire as well.

I run the 21x12x8 ten paddles on mine and i love them. I have ran the 22 and i much prefer the 21 but thats just me.
