JimmyBones Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Just installed the tors removal kit, have the idle screws installed. Also swapped out the jets with a dynojet kit. She wont idle and i have no low end power. Im thinking that I didnt grind off enough of the pilot hole for the idle screw and thats why I cant sync up the carbs and have her idle. what do you guys think? Quote
Powerstroke Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Do the idle screws touch the throttle valve? I had to grind a lot off my carbs to get the screws to raise the throttle. Also pilot screw has a lot to do with right off idle power mess with the screws it is pretty easy to tell when you are going the right direction. Quote
RUDEDAWG Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 I usually like to do just one mod at a time, seems like when you do a bunch of shit all at once and you have problems, it is hard to figure out what exactly went wrong. I would just put all the original jets back in, adjust your idle till it runs good and go from there. I think jet kits are garbage. Quote
JimmyBones Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 how can i tell if the adjust touches the slide? I slid my hand in the carb and the slide has hardly any gap between the bottom of the slide and the bottom of the carb. I ground down the pilot hole to 3/4" just like i was told. Quote
Powerstroke Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Stick a finger in the carb and adjust the screw you should feel it start to move up. Think I ground mine to 18mm. Do you have the slides in the correct sides? Quote
JimmyBones Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 Yeah, the left side is facing left and the right side is facing right. It does move but I have it screwed all the way in now and there is still barely any gap at the bottom of the carb. Quote
JimmyBones Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 Another side note, its firing on the right side is kinda hit and miss and there's not as much compression coming out of the right side pipe compared to the left. Quote
Powerstroke Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 I would grind more off and try to sync it the best you can. Quote
JimmyBones Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) Do you think that would help with the left side spurting? Edited January 31, 2009 by JimmyBones Quote
Powerstroke Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 My expierence has been if the carbs are not perfectly in sync one side will miss. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95025 Quote
