CBAIER1206 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Just bought a set of Cpi in frame SB pipes for my cub bike and am running 35PWK's... What size needles should I use? Quote
CBAIER1206 Posted January 29, 2009 Author Report Posted January 29, 2009 Got a little more information...I live in phoenix and ride at Glamis so I'm between sea level and 500 ft. and temp. is 60-70 degrees. I'm currently running 158 mains, 48 pilot and the needle is a CEL set on the middle clip which was dialed in pretty close for the T6 pipes I was using. When I switch to the CPI's can I use the same setting or should I adjust and if so, what? My other mods are in my sig... Quote
Titan up Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 I bet your pretty close right now. I'm running the same engine setup with shearer pipes and eek needle at Glamis. 158mains 48pilots EEK needles middle clip Running strong with 1.5 yrs still on the same topend. Quote
CBAIER1206 Posted January 30, 2009 Author Report Posted January 30, 2009 I think I figured it out...I went up 10 sizes on the mains which blows my mind and clearly illustrates the true difference in potential between drag pipes and regular pipes like Toomeys on a modded motor! My main is now a 168 and my pilot is a 55 with a cel needle. I'm thinking though that tomorrow I will try a 52 pilot because right off idle I'm getting a slight hesitation or bog... I will post my results as soon as I get them. Quote
CBAIER1206 Posted January 31, 2009 Author Report Posted January 31, 2009 Went to 52 pilots 1 1/2 turns out and it starts and idles great! Also switched to 165 mains being that I was throwing a bunch of smoke under full throttle so I will re-test and check plugs and report... Quote
