Yeah, so my kick starter straight up rattled right off my bike! Lol.

Just wondering if anyone has had theirs completely come off... A screw fell out of my plastics (I knew it was going to, because it was to small,) and I was riding when I saw one of those little flags with the metal wire. I stopped, got off the bike, grabbed the wire and wrapped it through there for a temporary fix while I was out (it was annoying me.)

I went back to start it, and was like "Damn, I know I haven't rode this for about a month and a half...but I can't find my starter!" (You know how you know exactly where it is, so you don't really look, you just glance over the side for reference, and swing your foot around and kick it without looking.) Then I actually looked, and I was like WTF.

Lol...anyone elses do this?

Yes mine fell off last fall never to be seen again.

There is a few different ways to stop them from rattling..The hollyman(sp) way or there is a way i did it also, and they both work good and shut them the fuck up too.

I have a new kicker now and did the "shut the fuck up kicker mod" to it also.

My screw was tightened right...but I guess my bearing, or whatever you want to call the steel ball, from the rebuild kit didn't seat well. I did it all right, and used the grease and everything, but apparently I didn't do it right. I didn't have any problems installing it except for that bearing, so that's why I'm blaming it.

EDIT-

And I only went down 3 trails, all straight and open, and I took my truck down there and got out and walked around down 'em. Didn't find anything....

You make sure the spring was behind the BB right?

I red lock tight the screw now

I know for a fact it was the BB that started anything that did occur. The BB was being a huge bitch going in... Everything else went perfectly smooth. I knew it wasn't 100% perfect, but it held for months so I figured it'd be fine. I should have Loctited that screw too though, now that I mention it.

I'm having the hardest time keeping damn screws on this thing, lol.

We don't have any hills here... If I go out riding, and it stalls, I'm fucked. Especially if there's no one to tow me...

I was thinking of going riding tonight too, this sucks. Now I gotta wait for this bitch to ship in...

Torn rotator cuff, right shoulder. I can get the adrenaline to ride it, and cruise around, but I can't get the adrenaline to push start it without f*cking up my shoulder more. Trust me, I tried push starting it today before the diesel showed up to tow start me, and my shoulder quit.

Turning the bike is a hell of a lot easier on my injury than is push starting it.

(Injury = why I have not rode it in so long, and the cost of it.)

Cost of what? The kicker?

That happened to me before, I just made sure I stopped infront of my buddy with a utility quad and he push started me the rest of the day. When I replaced it I safety wired the two halves of the kicker so if it did wear out again I wouldn't lose it and be stranded. I can just keep it in a pocket the rest of the day

No..the cost of truck gas to the nearest legal riding spot (hard to ride out on cops being injured), cost of Banshee gas, and banshee oil.

I went on vacation for 2 weeks, and only so much of it was paid...then factor in my injury leave time, and not having my surgery until next week, I was trying to be responsible and not spend all the money to ride.

Honestly, I only sleep like an hour at a time with this damn shoulder lately...so riding and getting ass kicked by the 'Shee hasn't been so easy to do.

Lost mine in the sand at Little Sahara in Oklahoma. Hard to push start one in the sand. Thats where I learned an alternate method. Put it in 6th gear and have a friend lift on the grab bar while you turn the rear wheels by hand. Works well with paddles too. Starts way easier than you would think.

Huh. I'm going to try this lol.
