harbinger of death Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 ok guys I've read pages of info but havent seen what i'm wondering about. I have a 03 stock motor t-6's vforce 3's and im going to get an adjustable timing plate and coolhead w/21cc domes. my question is- is it worth it to also get some 28 pwk's or wont it make that much difference being that its a stock bore and stroke? also are the pwk's better than mikuni tm's cause I have a shitload of jets for mikunis. I do all trail riding so I run the airbox with an alba lid designed to keep water out but flows like theres no lid- they dont make them anymore. any advise would be greatly appreciated Quote

harbinger of death Posted January 18, 2009 Author Report Posted January 18, 2009 Hey Megatron, you're probably going to get yelled at for putting this in the wrong section. yeah I noticed that after I posted so yell away as long as I get some help Quote
dave5.0 Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 I aint gonna yell at ya I don't give a shit. I would think those are better carbs. I just picked up a set of 35 A/S last week. I guess it would depend what you are planning to do with the bike in the future. I can't imagine a lot of gain with the stock port. Depends on what kind of cash you want to spend. I'm always in the mindset that if I'm going to buy something like that buy it to last a while. If you think you will be upgrading in the near future get something that will work for you planned package and deal with it at the moment. Not everybody thinks like that. If you are planning on trail riding all the time you would want a smaller carb to try and keep a little low end. The T6s are a stock port kinda pipe. Those should work well for you. The VF3s are more of a mid to topend item. They should work well but don't know that they will help on the bottom end if you are trail riding. Most of this is regurgitated stuff that I've been reading. Some of it I think is common sense. If you have been reading like I have you probably knew all this anyway. Hope it helps a little. Quote
dragbanshee Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 I think the PWK's preferred over the mikunis. I have the mods your getting but with the t5s and keihin knock offs 30mm and instantly noticed the quicker throttle responce. Now I have pods and would never go back, the thing halls for a bolt on. ClimbAnyHill Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Based on my 28mm PWK experience yes they are worth getting them! They really wake up a motor! Quote
