BlasterKX Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 ok my situation is this my psi is 110-115ish in each cylinder. i only have enough cash right now to ether get new rings and honed out new gaskets and needle bearings and get a shaved head(20 thousanths for $30). or get a cool head with domes. im wondering if i should just get the cool head and hope my rings last thru the summer ( 1-2 days a week 8-9 hours each day) or maybe get new rings and shaved head and start saving up for a cool head. any advice would be greatly appreacaited. Thanks fellas Quote
278 Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 Get the new rings and stuff and the shaved head. The shaved head will do just as good as the cool head, the advantages are the removable domes so you can change you comp., the looks and a couple degrees in temp. drop but really not much. Quote
tonyown Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I'd say like 278 refresh your top end and get the shaved head but yes start saving money and get a cool head  Quote
F.T.W. Banshee Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 I would get the cool head. Your comp. is good right now for stock. Your prolly around 1500 - 2000 feet above sea level. Quote
BlasterKX Posted January 5, 2009 Author Report Posted January 5, 2009 kool wasnt really sure if i sould or shouldnt. maybe later in the sumer i can get the cool head. but would rather have a fresh top end right now and ready for the summer Quote

F.T.W. Banshee Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 That is a little low then. I would replace the rings and save for the cool head. There is a Pro Design cool head with 21 cc domes for a $150 on ebay. Quote
BlasterKX Posted January 5, 2009 Author Report Posted January 5, 2009 think as long as i dont let it get to far into the low comp. i can just get away with doing ring honing and new gaskets and beedle bearings? Quote
