decon Posted January 4, 2009 Report Posted January 4, 2009 Mods: Pt Hi Revs', k&n pro flow no lid, VF3 reeds, +4 Timing, Lightened flywheel jetting: 290 Mains, DJ needle 3rd Clip, stock pilots, air screws 2.5 turns out what could be the problem? I run 32:1 redline oil. When I blip the throttle it seems like its wants to bog, and I have to mash it to get power. Jetting is according to Duncan Racing, except they say use stock needles but the bike came with dj's. when i turn the air screws out more it backfires, its real frustrating. Quote

Have you checked you timing plate? make sure it set to +4, also did this start when you but the PT on? have you done a plug chop? Quote
decon Posted January 4, 2009 Author Report Posted January 4, 2009 Yes it did start when I put the PT's on. And I will double check the timing plate. And no I have not done a plug chop. I will soon. Quote

My mids needed 320 mains with the cold weather, that might be some of your problem if its cold up there. Quote
decon Posted January 5, 2009 Author Report Posted January 5, 2009 so do you think I may be lean? Quote
someone82 Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) I don't have stock carbs on my bike, but from what your saying if your air screw is turned 2.5 out, it sounds to be too lean on the pilot jet. Mains come in at 3/4 to WOT throttle. Up your pilot and turn your air screw in. 1.5 out is a good starting point. Hopefully someone will chime in soon with some good stock carb tuning advice. while your at it check out this thread: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99361 search through it and you'll probably find a setup like yours and get a good jetting point for your bike. tundish2800 Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 I had pt highs on my old bike and in cold weather i would have 340 mains and 27.5 pilots Quote
98_shee Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Try bumping the pilot up to a 27.5, and turning the air screw out only 1.5 like stated. Quote
