Front wheel hub removal

I've got the wheel off, the brake caliper off and the nut that holds the hub on is also off. In the Clymer manual it says just slide the hub off. Am I doing something wrong? I would think it's possible for it to get stuck on there if it weren't properly maintained in the past, is there any tricks to getting them off??

Don't hit the end of the threads, unless you want to screw up the threads, so you can't get the nut back on. Screw the nut back on, but leave some space between the back of the nut, and the outside wheel bearing, then smack it squarely a couple of times with a dead blow hammer. It should jar it loose, if not, try spraying some lube in, and around the bearings, and letting it soak for a bit, before trying to remove the hub.
