What should the reading be on the carb sync tool for stock carbs?

The reading really isn't important. The RPMs should be set according to your Clymer manual and both corbs should show the same reading. The lower the reading, the more accurate you can set them since the range lessens as the reading increases. I would imagine engines ported differently would flow different amounts so you couldn't compare readings.
