Cool Head leaking out through bolts..

I installed a used cool head with new o-rings and three of the bolts are leaking coolant through them onto the top of the head.. Any help?

Pickup some acorn nuts if you don't already have them, be sure to use the copper washers that are supplied with the head, and use a dab of RTV on the acorn nuts when you put them back on.

well I got a pro design head.. is it supposed to come with copper washers?? I have the white sealer that I used on the cases.. Is that good enough?

Hit a hardware store or call NOSS and get copper or brass washers, pickup metric Acorn nuts.

Don't use Yamabond on those studs. RTV works much better.

Cool... what exactly is RTV?

Did you use any grease to install the orings to hold them in place? One of them could have slipped out of the groove and got pinched, did you install all the orings around the studs?

All I've ever used is the o-rings. Never had to use RTV or washers. You might want to check it for straightness. Put a straight edge across it. Usually a small square will work. And yes, use a dab of grease to set the o-rings. It will hold them in place until you get the head bolted down.

Leaking up the studs is a very common problem.

New washers, acorn nuts and RTV will fix it, I promise.
