Big_Dave Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 (edited) Aftermarket exhausts are built and designed to develope different power chacteristics over oem. headpipes, mid pipes and scilencers are designed to work together as a package, but whos to say that the packages cant be improved. go to your garage or shed, and look at your banshee, and tell yourself that you should'nt add or change because its a package designed to work together.... think about it. dirtfreak Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 look at a stock banshee, how detuned they are out of the box.who's to say the pipes aren't detuned. im sure toomey, fmf.and pro circuit pipes have some sort of standards/regulations they have to meet like epa and so on. noise decibel etc.its like porting cylinders,im sure someone that knows what their doing can improve fmf system. like the other dude was saying why did they make regular silencers and also have the shorty silencer. if it needed to be a certain length for tuning purposes, why did they make different lengths. some of the closed circuit pipes may not have to meet any epa/standards or regulations i don't know. then you have the forestry stuff, i wouldn't think turbine core 2's would be as good as power core's who knows. someone one the site shold be able to shed some light on the subject. Snopczynski Posted December 15, 2008 Report Posted December 15, 2008 someone one the site shold be able to shed some light on the subject. I already did. If its a non forest approved silencer then its going to be the optimum output tuned silencer stinger setup for the exhaust pipe. The forest approved silencers are de-tuned. They dont have to meet epa or sound requirements on aftermarket exhaust. Stock pipes run like crap because they were poorly designed and they are double walled stamped design for sound reduction. The actual expansion chamber sizes are smaller than they appear on stock pipes. Quote
