I'm putting in a 4 mil and I was going to send my motor to kevin, but my buddy can do it all so now I don't have to send it to him. Then I was going to order all the stuff off of Kevin and have him weld the crank for me. But my buddy already ordered the stuff and since its already here we will just weld it.

Where does the weld go? Anyone got pictures of it with/without the weld? I'm going to school right now and am going for welding so I will have my instructor weld it for me or I'll just do it.

And what kind of welder do they use for them? Or does it matter?

You weld it at the rod crank pin were you can see the end of it on both ends of the pin so that pressed together fit will not separate.

Most people like to use a TIG but i have used a MIG before.

Sweet thanks brother, I've never used TIG so ill make my instructor weld it.

Also, how much weld is needed? Just a tac or a decent bead?

Damn just missed your picture post, thanks for helping out.

look at the link above on my last post that says welded crank it shows it just dont let the weld interfere with the bearing. you need to make sure it is still true when you are done.

Gotcha, I don't know if he has the shit to make sure its true. Would the average bike shop have the shit to make sure its still true?

They should, all you need are some v blocks and a dial indicator.
