I don't think I could go with the twister after watching mccoy's 10 mill dm on youtube wax lc performance's 20 mill twister. Anyhow I would like to stay with standard cases to save a little money. Plus I don't think twister offers a 78mill motor in a 10 mill stroke.

Yeah the twister cylinder is going to take alot of work to compete with the DM. And twister does have a 78 bore setup for the 10mill. Either way plan on a good 500-600 for case work. And probly a few hundred more for the DMX. THe DMX is fairly new so I think it will take a little time, but I think it will be the new hot thing. But big $$$$. The torgue difference is where you will see the major gains in these large bore motors.

From what I was told was that lynns 20mill twister was having problems then once he got them worked out the 10mill dm was not around. Twisters run hard just takes a little more work then dm.. as far as the dm running just as good as the cubs is not true. 10mill dm's are putting down 140 hp+ and the 10mill cubs are around 120.

 

The dmx's I think are 84mm bore and as of now no one is putting them in stock cases, that I know of

Titan Racing is working on an adapter plate for the DMX's on stock cases.

Yes I seen that, but I dont think I would want to go to big in stock cases with an 84mm bore cylinder

 

Yeah I agree with you on that one. And then if your gonna spend the money to go billet you might as well go bigger than a 10mill right, I mean hell whats 8 or 9 grand on a quad motor, lol

very true I was going to build a 20mill cougar motor and started added shit up I got to 11 g's and still going and said for get it

Yeah, theres a difference between alot of horsepower and too much horsepower, I mean shit these things are originally built with what? 40 hp. And know where putting as much horsepower as a sedan. I wonder where it will end.

You are looking at a lot more then 11g's by the time you include billet cases, billet trans, and a solid clutch. Expect around 15k for a DMX/cougar.

 

 

As for your answer, the DMX's are making significantly more power once you get to the upper limits of the DM casting. I know several builders who prefer both types of cylinders. I will tell you though that my DMX has already made more power than any other motor on our local dyno. Just have to work on getting it hooked up now.

Maybe its just me, but why would you even consider staying with the stock cases if you are going to build that much motor? If you are going to spend 600+/- for mods to the stocker, you could spend an additional grand/1200 and have the billet cases. Im not saying money is no object, but if the motor is already in the range of 8K+ whats another G. Plus you can get it windowed so you can change shift forks. Just doesn't make sense to stay stock. Or am i missing something?

 

As far as power goes, didn't Mccoys DMX do like 87MPH up sand mountain?? Thats nuts

Where are you getting a set of matoon billet cases for 1G to 1200? I need to know...:)

The strength of the cubs is what bolts on and is more easily/readily available for a reasonable price....

 

I thought about a 10 mil DM...but, for a few hundred bucks I can put a 20 to 30 shot on my bike and be right there...:)

I could add a 20-30 on the cub but my track's rules are dumb and I could only run the one class.

Could'nt you just remove the bottle to run in the other classes. Just cap the line off and run it. I dont know thats the way it has worked at all the tracks I have been to.
