05.Banshee.SE Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 TORS removal is easy and well worth it! It'll make cleaning, taking apart, and tuning your bike way, way easier! And it looks a hell of a lot better without all that dead weight on top of the carbs! Speaking of checking the thumb throttle, one time that gold bar inside my assembly bent a little and it was barely catching towards WOT but was a huge pain and made it hard to push the damn throttle. I bent it back and it was fine. 1. Remove the TORS. 2. If you took the carbs apart recently...check the slides (not plum?) 3. Check throttle cable for binding. And LMAO @ smashing the brain to the TORS in that link... And when you do remove the TORS, put the idle screw in the carb body! There is a hole there already, you just have to tap it. Quote

05.Banshee.SE Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 The hole is started, but not all the way thru. Right. Just drill it and tap some threads. Take the carbs off when you do it, you don't want carb body shavings in your motor. It's really easy to snap the bit too. Make sure you use some lubricating spray. (Aluminum I think?) I had a local shop do it only because I didn't want to mess this part up, and I knew I probably would. I think it was like $20 or something...well worth the hassle I would have had I think! Quote
2001Stroker Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 plum? I was thinking the same thing. Quote
HAUSERSMOTORSPORTS Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 i know the carbs are clean. when i got it they were pretty nasty and i cleaned them with the zep carb cleaner you get in a 5 gallon bucket. good shit right there. on average i clean at least 5 quad carburetors a week due to the absolutley fantastic ethanol bullshit. as for "plum" do you mean that the slide iswarped and it is rubbing against the carburetor? HAUSERSMOTORSPORTS Posted December 1, 2008 Author Report Posted December 1, 2008 just put gas to my carbs after about a month of sitting on the bench and the right carb needle was stuck and the god damn tors were constantly in the way. they gotta fucking go! once i do they are getting destroyed and ran over with the mower. HAUSERSMOTORSPORTS Posted December 2, 2008 Author Report Posted December 2, 2008 just finished up all my electrical work. got my stator done and some other shit done. had no spark at the beginning but then i held the throttle open and that stupid switch turned off i guess and now i got hotass spark. its bogging and i think its due to the parking brake. what is the remedy for this without buying the blockoff?
