travis6767 Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 ok guys i need help again i still cant get my shee to run right. ive messed with the jetting and just cant get it to run right, today i moved the needles, didnt make a difference the problem i am having is in 3rd-6th gear at 1/4-full throttle it cuts out like it feels like the bike just shuts off and on then after holding the throttle for a while it will finally kick in to the power band then when i shift to the next gear same shit happens, ive checked everything over and over the timing is set at +4 pick up coild gap is .020'' tors removal kit this started to happen after i put new stator and cdi box on in 2006 still cant get it, i am about ready to get rid of it but i think its prolly something stupid right now i have 300 mains 25 pilots needles on middle clip new reeds 135psi in each cylinder rest of mods are in my sig and im at 1000 feet above sea level and it about 50 degrees here thanks guys Quote
mopar1rules Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 if you have k&n pods, bump up to 27.5 pilots. your bottom is likely lean. even try raising the needles 1 clip postion. see how that works and report back. Quote
THE GRIM RIPPER Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Certainly not your main problem but 300's seem a little lean for a ported, T5'ed, with pods..... Quote
fastrthnu Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Certainly not your main problem but 300's seem a little lean for a ported, T5'ed, with pods..... yea you should prob be around 330-350 main. I run my pickup gap the width of a buisness card. Do you have the old cdi & stator if they still worked? Quote
travis6767 Posted November 26, 2008 Author Report Posted November 26, 2008 no i dont have the old stuff and i think i need to get a stock stator because it has a RS in it thats prolly the reason for all the headache Quote

wacko2000 Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 I would say that you are def lean. I ran 310 mains with just T5's and air box no lid. with my ported motor with air box, 340main 32.5 pilot needle in the middle. If you richin her up all around you will see that you are lean. start with 27.5 pilot and 330-350 main like said above. Start rich and work your way down. Goodluck, and I have heard nothing but bad things about ricky stator products.. Just FYI Quote
AKheathen Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 did you rejet after new cdi? Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 Order the Toomey jet kit...you'll understand when you compare it to what's in there now. Quote
fastrthnu Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 toomey jet kits are overpriced and I think they only have 270 and 280 main jets in them. Jets r us sell a kit on ebay for like 20 something dollars that have better needles 300 320 and 350 mains with new gaskets and chrome allen bowl screws and you can order any other mains or pilots from them too. Im sure you can request sizes other than what they have in the kit for the same price. Quote
travis6767 Posted November 26, 2008 Author Report Posted November 26, 2008 the jetting was 280 mains stock pilots needles on middle clip, and it ran great scary fast and didnt cut out at all, so after i put the new parts on it ran like shit, so i have been messing with the jetting for the last 2 years, i think i have came to the conclusion that its the stator this is a link to a banshee that is cutting out exactly like mine Quote

I have had 2 RS stators and the ground came loose or wasnt soldered so they burnt out. I didnt put it together till the second one out in the middle of the woods. Luckily I was with other riders. mopar1rules Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 whooops, i didn't even see that your shee was ported....lol. yep, my ported shee is running 340 mains too. your rs stator, definetly ain't helping matters. Quote
Dick Wheels Posted November 27, 2008 Report Posted November 27, 2008 This is great to know. Reminds me alot of my bike. I've been chasing jetting issues all summer with mine to find out it had a stator plate on it and was set at +8. I turned it back to +4 and runs a whole lot better but still not totally right. i forgot to look and see what kinda stator is on it. I may be chassing jetting issues to only to find a damn RS stator.
