Just bought a 97 shee runs great, but keeps acting like its dropping a cylinder could carbs be the problem,it has new plugs,it will run like that for a minute just keep hitting the throttle and eventually it clears up for a little bit

Could need to clean the carbs or put on new spark plug boots, the boots have a 5 ohm resistor in them that bad,NGK sells replacement ends for 6$ a piece. You can check them with an OHM meter.

first, do a compression check, then check your reeds. bad rings/piston will give you low compression when tested, and bad reed or lack of back pressure will give bad dynamic compression. if you've ever had to ride back with a broken exhaust coupler, you know what it's like (other than just bein loud) sync your carbs, pull thecouplers from the front of the carbs and see if one spitts alot. what's your premix at? and at what point does it act up?
