I WAS WONDERING WITH MY MODS WHAT ELSE WILL I NEED? IS IT WORTH IT TO BUY THE 72MM OVER THE 68MM ? WHAT WILL MY DISPLACEMENT BE? IM TRYING TO FIGURE A TOTAL OVER ALL COST...OH YEAH I MOSTLY RIDE 4 AND 5 GEAR TRAILS I JUS NEED A PARTS/PRICE BEAK DOWN AND PROS CONS I GOTTA GO TO WORK WONT BE ABLE TO REPLY TIL AROUND 4 MOUNTAIN TIME Edited November 21, 2008 by kadillacman Quote

The cases will have to be machined to fit the bigger bore Also.. The super cubs HAVE to be ported or they will actually make less power then the 68mm cubs. A 72mm supercub is 472cc's. and will only make about 3-5hp more then the 68mm cub depending on the port job. In most cases the super cubs arn't worth the extra money for 3-5 more hp... Quote

I mean a couple of my friends have 421 cubs I jus want the edge to stay in front.. I hate being passed and the super cub im looking at comes ported and comes with a head and domes pre cut Quote
shanYE west Posted November 21, 2008 Report Posted November 21, 2008 I'd have to say you wont see any gains over a 421.. especially for trail riding. The super cubs have to be FULLY drag ported to get the extra 3-5hp. Some shops call a "clean up port" porting... So you have to know what your getting.. you'll still have to split the cases to have the machine work done to the upper case to fit the supercub.. If it was me.... I wouldn't waste my time/money on a super cub unless it was for drag racing only and you needed to fit into a certain class.. I dont like cubs for any type of trail riding but if you looking for a edge over your buddies.. you might be farther ahead looking into a 10mil cub. Quote
