advance the timing on a stock plate?

i was talkin to a buddy and he brought up somethin about bein able to mickey mouse your stock timing plate to enable you to advance the timing. i just baught an sdjustable timing plate and now im wonderin if i could have just modified my stock one and still gained the same amount of performance out of it?? what do you guys think??

yes the bolt holes can be slotted to give you+ 4. keep the adjustable plate. who`s to say all your bike needs is+4. it may run better with more timing.remember more timing = more heat. check your plugs.

Yep, sure can. I modify mine on a bridgeport with a rotary table and can get 5 degrees advance. If you take your time and do it carefull, you can do it with a dremel tool.
