I want to say what a great bored you have here!!!! I just picked up my first Banshee its an 02 with the only thing done to it is a K&N air filter. I riped around my yard last night and damn these things are a blast!!!! OK I did something probably really simple stupid but am letting my frustration get to me. I bought a set of 280 jets as its starting to get cold here in MI. I have not done this before but I love learning stuff. Anyway I fought with the carbs some getting them out and back in but installed the jets and I thought everything went back together right. I did unscrew the top of the right side carb and pulled that apart to get the carb out easier. I put it back together and screwed the top all the way down. I just doesn't want to start. It won't even try to. I probably have done something simple as like I said it ran like a champ last night. So I'm not afraid to say its my own damn fault..LOL Anyway I'm going to search the forum board to see if I'm not the first person to do this. In the mean time If you have any idea's at all please let me know!!! Thanks for your time!!!!

P.S. For you guys in MI I sure can't wait to try Silver Lake Dunes next year!!!!

more than likely you either have:

a) the slides in the wrong way around.

B) the choke tube not connected back up

some other things to check:

blocked pilot jets

stuck needle/seat (is fuel getting to the bowls?)

I dont know how long you tried, but when I re-jetted my carbs It seemed to take for ever to getted started again the first time. Like 15 to 20 kicks. I works fine now, ( 1 to 2 kicks when cold) but after rejetting it took awhile.

if you only have a k&n filter for mods, you are way rich, even at the colder winter temps, w/280 main jets. you will be better off w/240 mains. those choke tubes and throttle slides, will get a newbie every time....lol.

LOL Ok even if running around 20 degree's? I just don't want to blow the motor. If you say 240's I'll go out and get some of those.

Damn I sure hate being a newbie but you have to start from somewhere right? Well I ran her yesterday with the 280 jets and she wants to bog down when starting out. Almost have to get it on the pipe to start in 1st so I'm guessing the 280 jets are way to much for it like you were saying. I'm guessing its to rich on the transition to the main so that is what might be causing the bogging. If you guys think this is right or wrong please let me know. Thanks again as you guys rock!!!!!

what are your air screws at? set them to like 1-1/2 turns out from closed. leave needle at stock pos (clip in middle groove). and try those 240 or 250 mains.

Hey thanks for your help with a newbie Mopar1...!!! I'm pretty sure they were 240's that were in there to begin with so I will just go with the 250's and turn the screws like you said. I put new plugs in her yesterday and it ran like a raped ape....LOL Have I mentioned these things are faster than I thought..LOL I know damn newbies...But today I could tell it didn't want to rev as high and was most likely fouling my plugs out. I will have to put the new jets in Friday as I will be gone till then but I will be sure and let you know how it runs....I can't say thanks enough for the help!!!!!! I owe some beer somewhere sometime!!!!

Nope it was the 280's that ran good with new plugs then fouled em out. Thats why i'm thinking if it had the 240's in it and it ran good i'll just put in 250's for the winter and turn the screws like you said and it should be good.
