regalrocket Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 I just assembled my top end, and did a compression check. What is normal for a brand new fresh top end (all stock), with no run time at all? Thanks. Quote

J-Madd Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 120ish depending on elevation. You didn't waste any time getting parts and getting it put back together!! Quote
regalrocket Posted November 9, 2008 Author Report Posted November 9, 2008 (edited) 120ish depending on elevation. You didn't waste any time getting parts and getting it put back together!! I'm an aircraft mechanic, and I also build drag cars. I did my sled earlier, so I had the 2 stroke rebuild to a science. Plus I enjoy wrenching. Thanks for the help, I'm getting 120's on it, but wasn't sure if that was correct of not. Edited November 9, 2008 by regalrocket Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 Maybe you should come rebuild mine. Quote
regalrocket Posted November 10, 2008 Author Report Posted November 10, 2008 I was just thinking. I am waiting on some parts to come in, specifically reeds. I did the compression check without the reeds installed. After thinking about it, would the compression be higher cause the cylinders would fill better with the slight pressure the reeds keep in the case? Quote
Handyman Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I would think that the reeds would have an affect on the compression... They act like a checkvalve ...one way only Quote
