joeduno Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 (edited) Hey guys, looking for some opinons, I'm looking to change my rear sprocket on my shee hybrid. I have a GSXR 600 motor in the bike, and due to the engines low torque and high hp, it has very little low end. I figured I could cure this a little by putting a larger gear on the back, but I can't seam to find the stock tooth count. I also would like some input on which tooth count to go with. I plan on putting some taller tires on the back to help cure my low ground clearance issue, I'm thinking a 22 or 23" tire. The bike is currently getting a custom gas tank made, and the frame re-inforced, once I get it back, I'll post some pictures. Thanks Joe Edited October 29, 2008 by joeduno Quote
dragbanshee Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Stock gearing is 14/41 but with that setup it doesn't matter, just have to play around with it. 22s would be a good size, unless its all out drag bike, then you could go bigger and still look good. Post em when you get it back. Quote

With the stock banshee rear sprocket, and the stock GSXR front sprocket, it gives me a 2.56 to 1 ratio, I think I'm going to try and get that up to around a 3.0 or 3.2:1 ratio. That should give me a little more low end grunt. Thanks again, and I will for sure post pictures, or at least a link to pictures. Joe Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 With the motor you have i would go with a steel sprocket instead of alum. What size are you running in the front? I'd try 44to 47 tooth in the rear to start out with just keep in on hand to play with and see what fits best. Quote
