I would check spark...the gap on the stator pick-up...first . Not enough spark would be one reason for hard to start.

and how is you compression

no comp test, my kick start has play doesnt catch up top grabs about middle, has plenty of spark ouch i know , its getting fuel, havent synced carbs yet though i switched back to dual from homemade single setup

u should pull that clutch cover off and see exactly why your kicker gear doesnt grab at top...

definately lack of full swing. the air just isn't mooving fast enough to get it started at half swing. mine starts first or second kick sitting down warm, but i have to stand up holding the choke out and kick it 4-8 times fast @ 30-40 degrees when the engine cold. i wouldn't put up with the frustrations of a half kick :verymad:
