JKJK Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 Those ports should be connected to each other,as a balance tube.Same principle as the crossover tube on the intakes. Quote
gumby6t9 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 Those ports should be connected to each other,as a balance tube.Same principle as the crossover tube on the intakes. Mine came capped and I've been running them capped all summer... I was going to ask the same question but never got a chance to take a pic. Are you sure they are to be connected together? Where did you get this info? What if you run this carb on a single cyl engine? Quote
JKJK Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 This is based on my experience with those carbs on my setup.I have never tried to run or tune them without it installed or capped.I also run Boss intakes with no crossover. If my theory is correct there would be no reason not to plug it when running a single carb. gumby6t9 Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 I also run the Boss intake. Just wondering where you got this info. I don't see an advantage to run them connected though. Quote
werner Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 that nipple on those 28s are set up for oil injection. some 28s have them, some dont. just depends on what they came off of or how they were ordered. as stated, just cap them or use a small piece of tubing to cross them over. i have the same carbs with that nipple and i use clear tubing and they will get a little gas/oil in them while running but no big deal. if they arent capped they will give you a bad air gap which sucks while tuning.
