278 Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 How much can I mod my shee before i get the crank welded, I am planning on running an agressive trail port, Pro-design coolhead, Toomey T-5's, ported reed cages, carbon reeds, wiseco pro-lites, +4 timing and possibly some pwk 33's with pods, is that pushing the limits on the stock crank with out doing a true and weld? magz Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 youll be past the point of needing it, if your getting your cylinders ported why not just pull the case apart and get the crank welded for like 50 bucks? c'mon dont short cut it Quote
278 Posted September 19, 2008 Author Report Posted September 19, 2008 that make sense, just wanted to know how far i could go with out it. I actually over looked it until i started ordering parts and put my cylinders in the shop and realized i think i should get that done. Quote
FelixTheCat Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 I was running an HJR aggressive dune port with stock carbs, pipes and head...I pulled the crank to weld before doing more mods and it was already showing signs of pulling apart...and I know for a fact it was a used but low millage well taken care of quad...but then again...Kevins porting puts out POWER...even with stock pipes, carbs and head! So yes...pull the crank check the tolerances and weld it up... Quote
278 Posted September 19, 2008 Author Report Posted September 19, 2008 yeah i definantly plan on it. thanks guys Quote
