CPI Silencers

Ok ive tried and tried so before i do anything i regret to the pretty silencers i want to know if anybody has had problems taking CPI silencers apart to repack them.

 

How do they come apart, push in or screw on and what tricks are there?

are they riveted together like the shearers? if so Ibelieve you have to drill out the rivets.

no there are 3 bolts at each end cap. cant see any rivets

have you tried pulling those bolts out and prying the silencers apart? :shrug:

of course, thats why im asking because they wont budge

It was either Shearers or CPIs that I got apart (after removing bolts or rivots) by holding the pipe and banging the silencer against the back tire. Beware of flying parts when it comes apart. The next time, I put the whole thing in a trash bag, and did the same thing, so that the silencer didn't try to take my head off.

i got my old ones off by taking out the bolts then wrapping the silencer with a towel and hit it with a rubber mallet

I have one set that comes apart on its own, like halfway across little sahara, and one set that you would think were welded together!
