seabass Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 When I cleaned my carbs, the little pin that holds the slide in place was flush inside. I pushed it back out and put the carb back together and it runs fine. My question is, will that pin eventually pop back in or should it stay put? I couldn't find anything in the Clymers about it. Thanks in advance. Quote
mopar1rules Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 i have no idea what pin you're talking about  Quote
250psd Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 Probably the pin that holds the floats in place. Some are loose I find and some I need to punch out. You should be fine if you put it back properly. Quote
98_banshee_newbie Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 R U talking about the little flat rectangle piece that keeps the slide going up and down. If so I had the same problem that it would keep getting pushed out so that the carb slid would spin and not go down all the way . So when you start your shee up its roaring. If it's that that piece cannot be replaced I checkededat the yammy shop they told me to adjust it right so the slide goes up and down good with out catching but yet not able to spin. Then takesome Jb weld and put in around the out side of that piiece on the exterior of the carb just to make sure that it does not come out. Because like i said that small little brass piece can't be replaced unless you get real lucky or another carb. Hopefully that's what you are talking about. Quote
seabass Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 98 Banshee, that's excactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for the info. I'll slap a little JB Weld on it, if it pops out again. Thanks everyone else for your replies. Quote
sinisterboo Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 My wifes bike does that, I just push it back and whack it with a hammer and punch around the aluminum outside of it. Its just swedged in there. Plus it feels good to whack something on occasion. specially when you have 3 banshees. Quote

JB weld that SOB so you don't get hurt! Quote
