OKCterror Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Can improper mixing fuel make floats stick? Im alittle confused on this. whats the ratio for 24:1 and 32:1? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 your needle seat valve is sticking becasue there is trash in it probly. pull the carbs and remove the needle and blow it out. Quote
2smokefan Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 (edited) I wouldn't think so. Is it sticking open or shut? If your getting fuel drip then the needle could be worn or floats are out of adjustment. Mine leak sometimes so i just got in the habit of turning the fuel valve off. 32:1 is 4oz a gallon Edited August 28, 2008 by 2smokefan Quote
Bansh-eman Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 did it just start happening or has it always done it? check to make sure the metal arms that hold the flaots are not bent. and make sure the flaot hieght is correct. If they try and open too far they can get stuck on the bottom of the bowls Quote
OKCterror Posted August 28, 2008 Author Report Posted August 28, 2008 the guy said my floats were good, it was my needle and seat that got clogged. We drained the gas and mixed a new batch. Ran alittle lean for a bit but then warmed up. No leak yet. Goin to the dunes all weekend so ill test it good then. Might do a tear down out in the desert.lol. Quote
flyhighprerunner Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but you guys have desert in okiehoma? Quote
OKCterror Posted August 31, 2008 Author Report Posted August 31, 2008 yeah in little sahara outside waynoka. So it didnt leak still i started launching off the dunes then it would stop and then start up again alittle later. Im going to rebuild them one last time with all new floats, rods, jets, needles, and gasks and if it still does it jump up to a 36-8m carb Quote
