My Banshee (optional)

  1. Well after spending gobbs of money at the cycle mechanic's to keep my YFZ 450 running, after missing out on countless OHV park trips due to issues with the YFZ engine. After spending countless days trying to troubleshoot the son of a bitch on my own so as to not spend anymore $$ i got to a point where i could have bought a brand new quad with the amount of money i had sank into this bike. Having grown disgusted with the finicky YFZ engine and all its 1,000,000 sensors my god!!!. I decided I was going to sell the piece of shit and get back on a Banshee. Atleast I can work on a Banshee without NEEDING to plugging it into a laptop for crying out loud. Yeah i was fairly pissed off over the whole ordeal. I had picked up the YFZ off a buddy of mine for $1500 which was fair. He just had to get rid of it quick and i had just a few months earlier sold my Honda 450r and missed it so bad that I jumped at the offer. Little did i know i bought a lemon. It was previously a race bike 510 bigbore and when it was running i have to say it was right up there with the fastest quads ive ever ridden. It had all extended A arms, Elka Shocks, Nerfs, Houser +1? 2 Steering Stem, Protapers, ITP rims with nice rubber. I thought man what a waste to just kick it on down the road. I put it up for sale on Craigslist but i knew damn well id be taking a huge loss on it. I had about $4000 in it by now and selling a YFZ possibly blown? Not really knowing what was wrong with it i was getting some insulting offers lol. I mean damn what a kick in the seeds. One day was watching ATV youtube vids and came up on the YFZ/ YZ250 Hybrid video and it was like a sign from god. I thought YES!!! that is what im going to do. So i began shopping for a YZ 250 on the local craigslist and finally found one a few weeks later in my price range. Was a 1991 YZ 250 in decent shape paid the lad $900 for it and began the transformation that very same day. A few weeks later this is what i wound up with. YFZ 250 [/url]">http://http://s24.photobucket.com/user/rcmcllc/media/Fall2014Import187_zps82df552c.jpg.html'> For anyone who is interested in pics or advice on doing this particular swap id be glad to walk you through it. May eventually post another thread to cover how i did mine. Just let me know and ill make it happen.
