The extra wire on the 97- is connected to the parking brake switch, which is used to provide a much lower rev limit with the parking brake on. One the 97- Dyna ignition, this is used as the input to the programmable launch limiter. This wire is not installed on the pre 97 Dyna ignitions, since there is not parking brake switch on them. Brad
