You arent gonna notice that big of difference. That's only one tooth down in the rear.

What was your previous gearing? 14/40 is pretty much the same as stock (14/41) One tooth in the rear isnt gonna be very noticable.

Both are great pipes. Can go wrong with either. Pretty much it comes down to looks. Personally, I hate the look of CPI's. Somethin bout them I dont like.. Ive ridden bikes with both pipes on them, and I prefer the rocket sound over CPI's. I like the look of rockets better, and I like it that rockets seem to give a little more on bottom and from the dyno sheets Ive seen, they give more on top too. I say whatever you think fits your riding style.

300 might be a good starting point. But Im guessing ur gonna have to go bigger than that. May try a 27.5 pilots. Trial and error is the only way you're gonna get your jetting right on.
