  1. I wasn’t in the room when it was dyno’d so that’s why I threw il the quotations around “95hp” the first time around. It won’t be billet either just the cast CP cylinders and I’m only going with the smart carbs for ease of use and the extra $$ is fine with me
  2. That’s what Louie told me. But I’m not a one time customer for him. He’s made some $$ off me and my dirtbike motors. He built me a 300cc YZ on race gas I used for motocross just last year.
  3. Well my last build was a 4mm stock cylinder with a trail port and PT mids and every decent pass I was just a hair behind him so I’d imagine my build. I’m working on right now would fair pretty well.
  4. He told me about a week
  5. Well I have reached out to both cam and Louie swan and I plan on taking my cylinders to Louie this upcoming weekend for him to do some port work on them.
  6. Only reason I’m going with a 7mm is because the bike already had the crank in the motor, so I had the crank rebuilt and I plan on re-using it. As for the porting I reached out to Cam last night and he recommend I port it, I didn’t he realize he is no longer in Oregon so I plan on talking with Louie at twister cranks seeing if he can do anything for me port wise just because he is very local to me. As for my engine builder that is me. I’ve built every banshee motor I’ve ran but I try to stay loyal to a few shops for certain parts and custom work such as porting. I’m also not sure about past smart carbs but I have a close buddy that ran the most recent iteration of them (SC3) and he was very pleased in the performance of them, ease of tuning and how closely they came tuned to his motor out of the box.
  7. While the top end screaming power would be cool id really kick myself if i left myself with little to no roll-on.
  8. Yeah I could definitely see how I’m leaving a bit of hp on the table. I was thinking I’d throw the motor together and run it for a season and then if I want more have some porting done to it. I’d rather have to tear it down and do some port work rather then over-port for my style and want to start with fresh cylinders. You think just a dune port paired with the CPI’s would kill to much bottom end?
  9. “Top Dog Racing” AKA Cascade innovations. Fairly known company in the banshee world, at least in Oregon. They’re more then capable of porting cylinders since I’ve had them do up 2 other sets.
  10. You guys are just saying words with nothing to back them. You claimed the motor won’t run well, I asked why, you didn’t respond. To me this site just seems like a bunch of over weight middle aged guys that want to shove their opinion into everyone’s faces and nothing at all to back up their words. My original post the main question was a rough idea of horsepower. You continue to tell me I’m wrong when I am doing exactly as expressed by the owner of top dog racing. At the end of the day my motor is gonna be more tailored to bottom end roll on power, which porting does the opposite of provide. I would love to hear why I’m wrong if anyone has an actual answer with reasoning behind their statement rather than just a strong opinion on the fact I’m incorrect.
  11. I would also like to clarify 85% of my riding at the dunes is spent down in tree shots and the other 15% is racing other bikes.
  12. My original plan was to port it, I actually brought my cylinders into Shaun at Top Dog racing and he highly advised against porting the cylinders. He mentioned something along the lines of the 68mm CP cylinders for 7mm cranks don’t leave a of room for porting between a serval and cub and the serval alone will feel fairly peaky. Those probably weren’t his exact words but about what I took away from the conversation. And what specifically would cause this motor to “not run very well”?
  13. What are you saying I’d be disappointed in?
  14. I got a 6 over arm might go to an 8 over and a fresh set of 12 paddle 74 inch rollout superlite’s with extreme blades, and I don’t want to give up all my bottom end just because I mainly do free shots with the occasional drag racing. And I went with the 36mm smart carbs for ease of use and since they’ll have the bigger engine side spigot they should flow better on the top end.
  15. Gonna be running dual 36mm smart carbs and the top dog racing turbine flow intake manifolds. Only reason I’m not porting is because I want to keep a decent amount of maintainable bottom end. But my curiosity of overall horsepower is strong. Just want to make sure I can spank on my buddies “95hp” built raptor.
  16. Talked with Shaun at Top Dog for a while, I’m leaving the cylinders on ported so just servals as cast, doing race gas and CPI and smart carb 36mm.
  17. Myself.
  18. Currently in the stages of building a 443cc serval banshee. It’s got a 7mm stroker bottom end paired with 68mm big bore top end cylinders. I was planning on pairing this motor with high compression domes (plan on running race gas) as well as some 36mm smart carbs and I was planning on running Shearer small bore in frame pipes. I was just curious if anyone had any good guesses for horsepower range? I was also wondering if the stock serval porting with said pipes would be better for general duning or if I went with a Dune port and did CPI in frame small bore pipes.
  19. Is this with the serval or cub porting?
