  1. If you don't have any porting done 300 is probably too large. Try going down a size or so and see if it gets more crisp. South Texas banshee has 2 great videos on adjusting your idle. One using a tool that makes life easy.. as far as your kick start lever hitting your peg. Just take the screw holding it all the way out. Pull out the kick start lever. Re adjust the position. And shouldn't be hitting your peg.

  2. I've never won the banshee, but I've hit cash 3x. They get more out of the banshee when then do raffles. 200 tickets @ $65 ...$13k for a banshee. Easier for them than selling and if it has a few defects or ends up having shit compression the customer isn't mad because they won it for $65...

  3. I've seen lean running engines rev up on their own. Turn your air screws all the way in and back out 1-1.5 see if it runs better (can even go .5). Depending on weather extremes might even have to change jetting). If not, clean your carbs and check your bowl height. If still nothing change pilot. Just doesn't make sense assuming it ran before with those pilots. I'd check the airscrew and cleanup carbs first.

  5. Me and my buddy (700) want to go to Glamis for a day. Maybe find our way to China wall, swingset, etc. But neither of us know our shit or how to get there. People friendly enough to let you follow along or anything ever happen there besides the holiday craziness?

  6. Use a 22gallon rubbermaid tote. Put cardboard on the bottom. plywood (make sure plywood isn't too large and doesn't go through the tote), more cardboard. put your motor in. pack it with cardboard on the sides and top until it's got no room to go anywhere. Zip tie the top on ~ every 6 inches. Ship it out to an actual banshee builder. (HJR built mine and I'm very happy with it. He's also great with his time management. I will use him again in the future).  F.A.S.T. is also great and there's no shortage of good things said about them here. I sometimes order parts from them. From my research: Redline Racing in OR also seemed like a good option...

  7. I've honestly never had a problem stopping my banshee or felt like I needed more braking power. Maybe better tires/paddles, but otherwise, I feel like you're just upgrading for looks. Get a nice looking high quality rotor, paint the caliper if you want, steel lines. I'd say that's money better spent.

Trails and desert riding for me... Maybe mx or other use case has different thoughts on this?

  8. Compression and leak down test are good. Compression was on the lower end around the 110 but I’m not rebuilding the top end until I get some other projects done lol and leak down held at that 6psi and only dropped a little throughout the 5mins. Just went through the carbs again and put in 310 mains, and 30 pilot to begin, new needles (old ones were bent) with the clip in the middle. Only thing I could see being a problem is going to be the needle seat O ring looked a little pinched on the flooded carb but of course the kit didn’t come with it :)! My main issue at the moment is my right side carb slide is rotating inside of the carb when giving throttle… any ideas how to fix that?

Watch South Texas banshee video on rebuilding carbs. I don't think it's been assembled correctly. That side should not be turning as it's going up and down.

  9. What? Ur from la area??or atleast clise by??..im down once my babay comes out of surgery
Yup. I figure you're in San Bernardino from where you were riding. Don't have a truck at the moment so just going when budies are up for it, but hoping to be able to pick one up by next month

SandToyz Unlimited btw for local quality parts. + He knows his banshees. Doesn't work on them though.

  10. Glad to know you've gotten to the bottom of it. My banshee has a crap ton of donor parts too. As long as it gets me riding though I'm happy. Ride the sand dunes? Maybe I'll catch you in Dumont or Glamis next month...

So update!! Anyone interested in my issue........its been with quad doctor " mehcaik" and found couple issues....he rejetted my mains from 310 to 280 and had an vacuum leak from top cover like i had mentioned... no more sputtering and engine sounded responsive but in test drive it would just wind up and no power. He took initiative to remove side cover to inspect clutches and upon removing cover found bolt head, and alot of metal debri, suspecting only clutches , he removed clutch carrier and found carrier was welded and clutches just fell apart...found where that head bolt came from and a clip from shaft was came off and damaged it unabling to secure the clip....he has a donor banshee that was gonna swap the clutches only but looks like im getting the shaft with damaged clip holder, carrier, and clutches. ..he ensures me it will work but if not he put on new parts with no extra labor ..just whatever parts cost.. ...i have a frankenstein bansheeee..buwahaha..hey as long it works...and saves me money ..its a win win situation for both...🤞🤞🤞🤞

Yoooo..now im here trying to suggest things..hahaha sounds like pretty much ur studs are junk even if u get them off, possibly too much rust or whatever...but in my case i would accept my studs and nuts are goners...i would try tightening nuts if grabs thread so they can break off or if theres no thread to grip to weld nut to stud and make sure u protect ur wheel just in case u knick ur wheel while tacking it....and same procedure try tightening to break off stud and continue to replacing studs if available or whole hub.......just an idea??

haha, thanks! I already got new hubs all around and replaced the rears. I'll try tightening before I go the cutting route. If I have to cut..

You're probably going to have to cut them off. Then buy new hubs.

Yall think a Dremel would do the trick?

  12. I've now got 3 tires with lug nuts I can't take off. All 3 have the same problem. The nut spins, but won't come off and the stud isn't spinning with the nut. Even if I pull it with plyers, I can't seem to get any traction with the existing threads. So, enough threads to keep the dam thing on, but not enough for the nut to grab?

Anyone have ideas or recommendations on how to take it off? I was looking at a nut buster, but it looks like it might be too big to fit in the wheel well? I was thinking about using a Dremel, but I really don't want to risk messing up my rims.

  13.

Sounds like you've checked all the electrical components.

I've been there. I love my banshee, stressed problems a bunch, and my build taught me a lot 😅

Gasket for carb bowl? Rubber in carb caps or boot connecting to reeds? (Have you checked your reeds?)

If you're sucking in extra air anywhere from intake side, it can cause it to run lean. Check and see if your plugs say anything.

  14. I say that only because I have a dune port  with a 4mil crank with 30/310 and I'm still a bit rich. Thinking about it though, even if you were off, it wouldn't make that much of a difference. + If the shop knows banshee's I'm sure they know better than me.

Missed the bit about backfiring first time 🤔  does not sound like jetting at all actually. I'd check voltage everywhere and electrical components. Like mentioned: check tors delete components. If you know anyone else with a banshee try swapping out a few of the electrical components if you have no luck.

Any videos to hear it? What do your plugs look like?

Strange that it revs fine, but sputters under load.
