Quick question....i noticed that a hose going into my coolant reservoir is just hanging..its got a T-fitting on it...theres one side that goes to the reservoir and one side that goes into the waterpump...then theres a seperate hose thats plugged into the same T fitting thats just hanging down...im just wondering if it plugs into a fitting on the motor i may be missing...im not leaking coolant but theres none in the reservoir either.....not overheating or anything, but i think it plugs in....im wondering if it creates vaccum when the coolant is low and takes it from the reservoir,...my reservoir is fitted under my seat by the way......i dont know how to post pics on here but if someone wants a pic pm me ur email or cell and ill send a few...i just noticed it today

My motor is on its way back from HJR, and i cant wait to try it out...4mm with an mx/trail port and new hd clutch springs, domes, gaskets, a few bearings, a new stator and flywheel, a shift shaft...hoping to gain some more noticable power and some more on the low end....quick turn around too...ive never sent a motor out, so i was a little nervous, but HJR was really good thru the whole process.

Motor is out and ready to go....its going to Kevin @ Herr Juggs Racing for a 4mm stroker kit with a new set of domes...ive heard good reviews about his work, and i talked to him today......seems like a pretty straight foward job...im leaving a little wiggle room for a little clutch work, or new gaskets, etc....lookin foward to seeing how it runs...

When i bought my bike it had(s) full flight a arms....shocks are or appear to be stock(i know the rear is because it says yamaha on it)... my question is: if i want to get a set of elka stage 3’s, other than my riding style ,weight etc, what info do i need? I think the a arms are stock length...anyone know what the stock a arms legnths are? Im just not really familliar about suspension on the machine because u can trick them out so much, it seems to vary by machine...i can email someone pics via pm if they’d like so they can see.....i just dont want to order the wrong shocks, because i know on the order form it asks if the a arms are +2 ,etc ,etc....for the record,im almost sure theyre stock length, but id like to get a second set of eyes on it

Thats a sweet looking setup....i actually think im going to go another route and get a set of elkas for it.....i have to put in my timing (+4) plate, i have full flight A arms, so i might invest in some better suspension instead.....my motor has ported wildcard jugs, k&n open air filters, T5’s,  the tors is deleted, boyesen rad valves, and its got a set of wiseco pistons in it...all the bearings are new in the motor as well....i was thinking of dressing the engine up, and tossing some nice suspension in it...its just so tough, because i wanna do both, but only one is in the budget (for now)....i keep hearing people say “do the suspension” over and over....i just cant make up my mind.....

  6. So...im going to treat myself to some performance engine work i have a few questions: ....

    #1 im wondering how u guys go about shipping your motor out...i dont really know where to start...ive got around 1750$ to spend on my motor, but i dont really know what i should do....i like low end power....i have t5’s on it...wildcard racing jugs ported and polished (stock bore), wiseco pistons, a timing plate, k&n style open filters...

    #2 has anyone ever just told a builder their budget, shipped their motor and said “go nuts” within my budget? Anyone just let the builder do the modding they think is best?

     

    i do trail and sandpit riding mostly.....my bike is fast as it is, but i dont have too many toys, and i want this to be like my ongoing project...

  7. Got some honda 80w...this is what they reccommended i run at the yamaha/ honda dealer near me, so i went with that....better than the milk i have in there now from an o-ring not seated on the hose that caused some coolant to leak in...no damage, all fixed, but i wanna change it

  8. I have a new set of t5’s on the way...my question is, do they come supplied with new o-rings for the stingers, or do i have to get them? I was gonna pop em outa my old fmfs since they dont leak, but i figured a brand new set of pipes would include them...
