  1. Btw the topic name should be ignition coil***
  2. So I have this spare/ original stator that was in my03 banshee ... i recently installed a new stator as my bike was not generating spark .. bike runs fine now and all is well but my question is on the original stator I have .. on the actual connections.. the only wires that are not giving me a reading is the white with green stripe and white with red stripe which to my knowledge is the ignition coil... the black and yellow wire test good and the red and green wire test good ... is there a way to save this stator buy doing anything with the wires or its 100% shot?
  3. Lmao well then hopefully by the time the mods are done I have a whole lot of extra parts to just build a whole new machine lol
  4. Thanks zilla, yeah I guess it is pretty clean my original plan was honestly to sell it because I'm more into dirt bikes but I keep reading on the forums and it looks like you guys have a lot of fun with the shees so I figured I'd play around with it for a little ... I've had one prior to this but it was a PoS and I was way more into the dirt bike scene.. also that's what I was thinking to keep it as stock as possible but the thing just didn't make enough noise for me with the stock pipes lol
  5. Thanks man I appreciate he input ... more then likely I'm going to do the FMF cause that's what I've ran on most of my dirt bikes, I'm going to order them today I'll post a pic when I get them put on
  6. Yeah I ride in he beautiful woods of upstate NY lol ... I'm From the Bronx but it's either be like the thugs who ride on the street or take your off road vehicle off road so I go upstate Ny and hit trails... but yeah I guest most people on the forums are able to go out to dunes or wide open areas lol ... if anything I would say I need more of a low end or mid range pipe as oppose to a high rpm pipe because is the trails I ride I'll probably never see 5th of 6 gear lol
  7. I was looking st fmf gold fattys but haven't seen much review on it as every thing I read seems to be about toomeys or CPI
  8. So I was able to pick this bike up a little while ago and haven't really had too much time to mess with it... the stator was shot when I got it and I just haven't had time to really ride it . Got that problem sorted out and now it runs pretty good... I'm not too familiar with banshees and don't plan on doing much engine work, just wondering what kind of pipes and silences any one would recommend for just running a basic set up ? I'm mostly going to be riding on trails Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. New stator in and banshee runs like a dream again.. thanks fellas
  10. Ok so I will definitely keep looking .. Oem is the way to go though right? Or is any after market one decent ?
  11. Hey all I was researching a little on the subject and people are saying after market stators are no good? I checked eBay and seems like the oem stator used is a fair price at around170$? Any input on this or does any one have one laying around they are looking to sell
  12. Perfect... yeah I have an 03 so hopefully this does the trick..
  13. lol I've watched every video and I've tested the exact same way ..as I said I got all good readings except for the stator connections with the red and green wife..: gettting absolutely no reading ... does that mean that my stator is done ? Could it be as simple as replacing the stator and cable to the harness and hopefully that will do the trick.?
  14. So I checked all the connections, coil, boots and stator ..,, the coil and the boots are reading with in specs ... I can't get a reading when I test the stator after I disconnect it from the harness, could that mean it's fried?
  15. I'm in Orange County NY about 50 min north of the GW bridge
  16. Yeah I've pulled the plugs and left them attached to the boots and I see no spark
  17. Hey all my name is Erick and I'm fairly new to banshees and to the site ..I just picked up a 2003 in pretty good condition .. bike was running well when I first got it about 4 weeks ago however it was running a little choppy and would not idle too well. FYI I live in NY and it's winter time here and it's been pretty cold lately and where from 15-30 degrees Fahrenheit so I'm assuming the jets probably play into this ... anyways the bike was running decent enough to at least take it through the trails but kept shutting off wheniwould leave it to idle ... I had no idea about the tors or the removal kit so I started to play with the slides and was eventually able to get it to idle forever ... I feel retarded now because I see who ever had the bike before me already did the tors removal kit and I could have just used the idle screws .. I'm assuming I messed something up with the slides because gen it started to run really choppy and then started back firing out of the right exhaust ... so much to the point that next time I took it out it bogged out in 3rd ear and just shut off and will not start back up ... I watched a video on how to re sync the carbs and I think I got them perfect but sill the bike does not start ... I decided to check the spark plugs just to see and both plugs are absolutely black and not generating spark... I changed both and put two new plugs in and even the new plugs are not generating spark so now I am at a complete stand still ... any input ? And I'm not the best with engines or engine savy so please lamens terms
