what is the downtime after the top end is replaced and being able to ride it normally again? My dilemma is this; I only use my Banshee during snow storms (which is DEC, JAN & FEB where i live) How long is the break in period?? i rather break it in now opposed to the winter when i really want to ride it? or is there no break in time?? RELEVANT INFO: last compression test was 115 on both sides..about three months ago As of today the quad rides great. Thanks all

Nice I'll order a can of that MPPL.. I know the wiseco are good pistons but is it worth it to pay a little more and get these cylinders too? Or are the OEM on the quad better and I should just reuse them?? http://m.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Banshee-YFZ350-Standard-Bore-64mm-Cylinders-Wiseco-Pistons-Top-End-Gasket-/142322800776

I am considering replacing the top end on my banhsee. Just bought a Clymers and found this article... Is this article correct in spraying WD-40 into the cylinders after washing them ??? Why not coat with 2 stroke oil instead? http://www.outdoorlife.com/articles/atvs/2009/01/workshop-top-end-check And is there anything else I should be aware of?? Any tips?? Thanks

Am I Shutting Banshee Off Correctly??
Baileycakes replied to Baileycakes's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I dont know... For years i would just shut it off and put it away in my garage until i rode it again; which was normally that next weekend. Last week at the yamaha dealer the service guy told me i was doing it wrong and then instructed me to turn the gas to off position and burn the gas out...(Method 2) I dont know alot about 2 strokes and still learning. which is why i wrote this post; really looking for some good advice.. -
I have heard of 2 Correct ways of turning off the Banshee Method 1- Turn engine and key off and then turn gas to off position. This method will obviously leave gas in carbs.... OR Method 2- Turn gas to off position and let the remainder gas burn off until quad shuts off; then kick it again pulling choke out to burn anything left while tethering throttle... From what i have heard; over time the first method will create gummy build up in the carbs quicker but the second method makes the engine run with minimal or no lubrication as the gas burns off, creating excessive wear and tear on the pistons or cylinders... Do either of these theories make sense or is only one of these right??? Do the pistons get lubrication from the gear/clutch oil too?? If it makes a difference. I start my Banshee once a week and take it for a quick five minute ride. So its not sitting in storage for months at a time without a start. I would love to hear what experience anyone has had and if anyone has any pointers or tips for me it will be very much appreciated. Thanks All

Can someone point me in the right direction... Besides FMF Fatty pipes & K&N filter the banshee is pretty much stock. I don't plan on doing any engine work, maybe the top end when needed; but I won't be moving up in CC's or anything. V Force 4 OR Chariot Racing Reeds? Which one will be more suitable for my setup? Thanks all

Clutch cover gasket installation
Baileycakes replied to Baileycakes's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
That's not a bad idea.... To install it dry. I'll try it dry because the clutch cover was purchased on eBay and I guess I rather know now if it is not in good shape.... Thanks -
