  1. Im looking at this http://redlineracing.biz/shop/keihin-billet-float-bowls/ But I have read that there are oversized ones with overflows built in to prevent fuel in the engine, since I trail ride and dont drag race, I think I would prefer this, am I speaking nonsense here or am I on course?
  2. Makes sense. Its worth the cost to get a bigger bowl to see what happens. Thanks, ill start there. Couldnt hurt either way. Also if DDQ could post his altitude, jet sizes and needle size that would help me since he is probably running the same keihin 35mm carb I am. Although I may not need the same it could help me see how "fat" im running compared to a somewhat similar build.
  3. DDQ is very similar to mine, I am already aware of issue I have with my 35mm carb and its due to prior owners inability to jet right, I have done a pressure test on the engine to look for leaks and found none, everything holding fine at 6psi, so I moved on to the carb and have been going down in main size 2x now with no power loss but am almost positive I will get to a point that I may need to adjust needle size. If I am having an issue with topend then I believe it is here as plug chops are showing that I am still over fueling. (whats your opinion on this?) My build is 30 over bore, cleaned up port, heads shaved 14, t5 pipes ( im aware I could use t6 instead for this build for gain, or a dif pipe but may do so down the road ) 35mm carb, stock airbox with billet perfect seal and k&n filter (similar to stock style) Airbox cover is cut open. Keep pointing me toward success. thanks.
  4. nice ZillaFreak "I see you put your money where your mouth is.." lol jk man what mm carb are you running? can I get some more information? Maybe I have baught into the hype to much and this has limited me. I need more! :-D Please and thanks. Some intel from DDQ on his build also.
  5. Also, mid range may not be "insane" compared to a dual carb setup, I didnt mean it that way, I meant that the mid range has my powerband in it. ( I could have just said that) I describe the most intense part of the ride as insane, I did not mean in comparison to a dual carb, that was an assumption on your end.
  6. Well, lets hear the build. Maybe I can "learn a thing or two" Do you have a post about your build I can go through? Would like to know the setup from top to bottom... carb size, jets / needle size, even sprocket sizes, ... what mm bore, domes? your altitude where you are rideing etc.. Because If I can get as much top end as you claim to have with your 2 into 1 then "yay!" But the fact is.... dual carbs doesnt just add "a few more hp" like you said, more like.... alot more, the single carb plateaus at some point. Sure its overkill to explain the topend as a "downshift", Im just saying, im not the only one experiencing lack of topend with the 2 into 1, now... I still love it... but its true, less topend for me. So maybe an awesome 2 into 1 rider like your self... the self proclaimed king of 2 into 1 builds should enlighten the rest of us so that we can get our topend back... please great 2 into 1 jedi, teach us the way. Jokes aside though.... seriously, whats the build so I can compare the differences and maybe see where I should go.
  7. Do you have a 2 into 1 setup?
  8. I live in WV and I do only trail riding and have a 2 into 1. I have a 35mm carb on it. Bored out 30 over and heads are shaved 14 with toomey T5 pipes. PROS: We have clay mud up here and first off, cleaning the bike is a plus with this setup. The clay sticks to everything and does not "wash" off. So I like this about it. My low end is good, but the mid is insane, this works for me because Like stated, I ride muddy ass woods and its nice because I rarely leave 4th gear. If ever. (my top speed is around 80mph on road with current gearing) stock front and -1 on back sprocket.) if I rejet... It will be easy. I dont know about (throttle response complaints) I have never had an issue, actually because Im in the woods I have to wip the bike around in tight spots and Iv never had an issue slamming the throttle to spin around in spaces not much wider than the quad even with the -1 rear sprocket. CONS: No high end (none) - powerband just drops off like its downshifted almost. Thats it as far as im concerned. --------------------------------- So if your making a bike that is for a high top speed.... dont do it. If your trail riding in thick ass woods with hills and very few open fields.. then this is why you would want a 2 into 1. Thats all I got on it.
  9. Also, I just painted my swingarm, the one above is stolen from google. So after all the paint work etc. I would have rather fabricated a spacer if necessary even if it took alot of troubleshooting. I figure the new guard will be dust by the time I need to redo the bearings again anyway so if it caused faster wear or something Id still let it ride.
  10. I kinda figured, lol. Thats why I planned to just slap the guard on anyway. and if that didn't work, try to use a spring tension-er later down the road. Im pretty meticulous about things but I was going to let it slide for the cost of a new swingarm lol.
  11. because its just a slip on part and they are not making them as replacements. Thats terrible in my book. Also I have noticed that all aftermarket swing-arms lack that part. So I know there is a better method then ... well that. Ill just have to work around it.
  12. lol terrible design. go figure. Ill make it work.
  13. Hey guys, I have been searching like crazy and I cannot find this part online anywhere. I am replacing the swing-arm seal guard on my banshee and had to cut off the metal piece that goes between the plastic roller and the bar of the swing-arm because it was destroyed. Again, I have the plastic guard that rolls but am looking for the metal guide that it fits on.. Does anyone know where I can find this part and what is it called? Thanks for any help!
  14. That will be my first step when I put it back together but I would like to have a backup on standby, I am going to purchase a size 45 pilot jet to have on standby in case I have to go to far out on the screw. Something I really need help with guys, this may sound stupid so sorry if it does, All of the tutorials on jetting are not specific about what moving 1 main jet size is. Does it literally mean 1 size EXAMPLE: for keihin carbs, is going from a 190 to a 188 moving a full size? or is moving from a 190 to a 180 considered a full size? Thanks in advance for clearing that up for me, again sorry for such a simple question lol.
  15. After reading this article http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23546 ivdecided to go down on the main 1 size first from a 190 to a 180, Going to purchase a 170 also for backup. Also going to build that pvc leakdown tester, I will widdle it down from there. Maybe after float adjustment, Would going from a 47 pilot to a 50 or 52 add more fuel during idle or less? I think I should add fuel on idle because the screw was set at 1 1/2 turns and required me to give it a little gas to keep it running with 93 octane 32:1 mix fuel.
  16. I kinda did a plug chop, lol. Didnt warm it up and swap plugs but I put a brand new plug in it ran it cold and the plug was definitely dark and not the brown it should be. Im sure its running rich, you have to be that way on the throttle that I can just tell. Im going to go down on the main, Still doing research. Im going to move the C-clip down one notch to start.... or would it be up one notch? Thanks
  17. Where can I find different needles? with different tapering?
  18. Sry for double post im on the phone... It also boggs down in 3rd or higher if i gun it in the power band sometimes...
  19. What do you guys suggest? Have it ripped apart atm. Yes it revs out like a mother. Gears are so short its crazy. First gear might top out around 15mph.
  20. Looking at the needle now, now sure how to check needle size. Its c-clip was at the center position though.
  21. Thanks for the advice man, ya its the trinity 2 into 1. NOTE: found the JET sizes , Main Jet: 190 Pilot Jet: 48 How does that sound to a seasoned pro for my setup? Going to wait till tomorrow to order new jets, the Pilot is messed up on top from someone doing a bad job on install I guess. Still doing some reading on jetting.. Any recommendations on jetting ATVridinMaNiAc? Thanks again guys, very helpful stuff.
  22. Awesome, thanks much man, Also, the carb is a 35mm not 36mm, after measuring the whole thing and comparing it to the numbers at http://www.keihin-na.com/aftermarket/pwk/I found that it is def the 35 since the 36 has a thicker casing it seems by a few mm.
  23. Amazing! thank you!
  24. TBH nothing makes me think it needs different. It probably is running the perfect jets. But I would like to be sure thats all. :-D Other than that, do they need changed after age? Also, I have measured the (engine side) of the carb and it is 36mm, but I am unsure if that is the correct carb sizing, It needs a new cap and a 90 degree throttle cable adjuster and nuts, But dont want to order the wrong cap. are the caps for the Keihins different sizes? or universal among a certain amount of sizes. Thanks again.
  25. Awesome, will rip apart soon and post current sizes. Thanks
