  4. Also noticed the center water jackets don't line up that good with the head. Another issue you can see in picture is the longer studs closest to exhaust ports are too long to let the supplied nuts tighten up. These are stock studs to my knowledge.   5. UPDATE Received my Noss cool head from F.A.S.T. Washed everything in the sink and started getting ready to assemble. Found out the right side cylinder stud holes are not tapped as far down as the left cylinders holes. That explains the height difference. So I threw the cylinders back on the bike to test fit the head. Snugged down all 8 cylinder nuts evenly with a wrench. Took the Noss head base and tried dropping it down onto the cylinders. Did not fit smoothly. So then I fit the head base over each cylinder by them selves. Each cylinder's studs lined up with holes in the head base and fit nicely. So the cylinders fit the head when they're apart, But when they're both together mounted on the case the head does not want to slide over studs. I loosened all the cylinder base mounting nuts till they were just finger tight and head still doesn't want to fit smoothly. I'm sure a few whacks would get it on but I do not want to do that with this brand new head. Looks like I may be sending cylinders back. Any thing else I should check before I do??   6. I didn't think it would either since there's still a good amount of thread in the cylinder. I kinda thought that they were crooked and that was why the head fit snug. I'm thinking about ordering a head from F.A.S.T. one of the Noss ones with 22cc domes and a set of .020" base gaskets. What size base gasket do you guys usually start with?   7. That angle I took of the cylinders installed on the case prolly isn't the best. I was trying to show the difference in height between each cylinders studs. I removed a stud from the right cylinder and could definitely see the threads were not tapped all the way down the hole. Musta been from a different batch of cylinders which makes sense cause I specifically got that cylinder exchanged previously because too much casting flash was left in ports.   8. My squish was actually .055 on left cylinder and .058 on right cylinder. I measured each cylinder on both sides of piston above wrist pin with solder and through the spark plug hole Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I was test fitting the trinity head over the cylinders last night and they fit smoothley but the heads or the cylinders are shaped differently. I'll get a few pictures of what I'm talking about. Oh and I'm using a iPhone 6 to take all my pictures haha it works good especially in my sorry garage lighting. I didn't even think about casting sand when I cleaned the cylinders before I installed them. I was worried about metal shavings so I just washed them with hot soapy water in the sink and let air dry. I think if I were to boil some water then let it cool a tad bit and then drop the cylinders in an let them soak it may have loosened up the sand.   10. And if I didn't have enough problems I just noticed all this black sand gritty stuff in the cooling system. It's made its way everywhere. Never noticed it when I drained it initially. I know this bike has been in the sand but I don't recall ever seeing this before. I flushed the radiator out and washed the new cylinders before I went back together.   11. Took a pick tool and was able to peel up more material around plug. I know I snugged these up but I know I didn't tighten them hard enough to start stripping the hole out. Glad I removed this head... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. So pulled the head off. Actually came off pretty easily. I was hoping this would be the case since I did start the motor and ran it through couple heat cycles previously. Anyways here's a pic of the studs. Right side would not thread as far as the left Also found a small thread shaving that looks to have chipped off one of the domes where the plugs thread in when I removed the head. Musta fallen in last night when I installed the plugs luckily I didn't start motor and I pulled the head off... Was a little concerned when I got these new domes also because one of them fit more snug in the head compared to other one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well just got off the phone with AZ racing in Ontario California and the gentleman I spoke with didn't hesitate when I told him that I had fitment issues with the studs and misalignment with the head. Said I can send them back. Definitely remember removing the head from the old oem cylinders with ease and I know this time it's going to be difficult to remove due to the fact that I had to tap the head on over the studs during install. This leads me to think there is a definite issue with the cylinders and they're stud holes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That's the kit I bought and have on my bike right now. I'm gunna disassemble tonight and try seeing if I can get the head to fit better. Maybe that will change my compression. When I first got these cylinders I sent one back cause it had lots of left over casting flash in ports and I didn't want to port them at the time cause I just wanted small stock ports and trying to get the bike assembled and rideable without going all out and spending more money on port work. The funny thing is I saw the same kit from same supplier for more money so it makes me wonder why the kit I bought was cheaper. Really was unhappy with overall quality. Gasket set was opened and repackaged. Also I could tell base gasket in the kit was previously installed but not torqued down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  21. I never checked squish when it had the 17cc setup and ported cylinders. I should have for a reference. I also didn't look at how the head seated on the cylinders. Didn't even cross my mind. The old cylinders I believed to be oem with port work. My current cylinders are aftermarket but stock ports and bore. I did not test fit the cylinders to head prior to installation. Just slid new cylinders over existing studs in case. Torqued. Then installed head studs. Then installed head with rubber mallet. Was snug going on. Then torqued. I measured squish through spark plug hole with .062 solder and it was a little difficult to measure the solder since it didn't get compressed completely flat. Was thinkin bout using .112 solder but thought it may be too thick. left cylinder I was getting .055 and right cylinder I would get .058 again this was through spark plug hole so not 100% accurate.   23. Yea that's why I'm confused that I'm getting 165. I got 165 initially before I fired it with a healthy amount of oil in cylinders. Ran it through a few heat cycles and putted around in 1st gear and 2nd a little. Re tested and had 160 but could get my Matco compression gauge to read 165 if I really kicked it over fast and hard after it reaching 160. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
