  1. That is also a possibility. I'll investigate it further this weekend Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  2. No tors here, so the carbs shouldn't ever affect spark. I checked sync so I know they're installed and sliding correctly. I don't think the washer is the root problem in your case. It definitely needs to be in there, but may not be causing all of your symptoms. You do have verified spark at both plugs right? And you're sure you got the flywheel key in and aligned correctly? 3. Understood. I couldn't see the necessity, but never hurts to ask. Removing the washer actually changes the position of the main jet significantly, bringing the needle much deeper into the jet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  4. Fwiw, my carbs don't have the plastic inserts(unless he's talking about the floats?) Necessary? My carbs seem to deliver the correct amount of fuel now that I rebuilt them, but of course now I have no spark(I've had this thing a month and still haven't rode more than a mile) I feel your pain dude Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  5. That's enough bad press to keep me away from them. Thanks guys Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  6. I know, too good to be true Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  7. Carb issues resolved, New issues arrive. New needle and seat resolved my leak, had her idling fine and running like a top. Now, every time it gets warm (not hot, like a quarter mile away from the garage) my spark dies. I guess I'm gonna spend my pod money on a stator, wiring and switches checked okay. Some day I may get to ride this jewel. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  8. There is an abundance of cheap Chinese made aftermarket stators on eBay. Are they junk, or a deal? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  9. +1 for this guy. Fast shipping, good deal. Definitely recommend doing business with him. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  10. It would be easy to build a shield along the bottom to slow splashing without decreasing airflow , as well. if there is a significant difference in flow between the pods and an open air box. I suppose that is the question
  11. While I'm asking dummy questions: which is better, gutted air box or filter pods? And at what point do i start questioning the flow capabilities of stock carbs? I'm thinking about a trail port and fresh top end this winter, reseal the bottom end and hope it's all fine inside. I've also seen people selling timing advance keys for the flywheel, claiming big power gains. I want to be able to run 93 comfortably. Damn i need that clymers manual, some engine specs would probably answer half my questions
  12. Beside me, check the for sale threads. Dude has three air boxes, one doesn't really look like a shee box.
  13. Was looking to trade for the filter pods, if they'll work and you still have them, with wraps. If not, I won't be able to sell until i upgrade my filters. .. can't be riding dirty lol
  14. Cool, I'll definitely have to pick some up at that price.
  15. I am. I have an air box with filter (after market, can't remember the brand) and lid. Do you have the wraps for those filters? I mostly trail ride so I would definitely need those. Again, I need to get home and measure the od on my carbs, 60 mm seems huge in my mind.
