So I figured I'd start a build thread for my 96' banshee. This project started in June shortly after I bought the quad in May. It all started when the notorious idler gear went out. I used a 1/8" piece of aluminum off a running bored from a truck some one had thrown away at where I work so I "tried" to cut it and polished it up pretty nicely https://imageshack.com/i/pb8MK8BOj https://imageshack.com/i/p8zYyu9Wj Sense I go to a half a day of "collage" every day for welding I was able to save my clutch case by having a buddy of mine tig weld the crack in it solid https://imageshack.com/i/p88O1ifNj https://imageshack.com/i/p89lhFK1j That's where I'm at as of now Im just waiting on my kick starter seal to come in the mail then the bottom end will be complete. This build will take a while so stick around see what's going on, let me know what you guys think so far!

Haha I'm not sure of how else to explain it, and I know this has been covered before but as far as a cdi box I noticed when I bought the machine the box was red in color but when I buy a new one should I stay with oem and where is the best place to buy one? eBay or a local dealership?

So I'm waking up an older thread but I started this one so what ever but as all ready said my banshee would physically run backwards only when starting, if I shut it off and re started it, it would most of the time run normal. I got the bottom end back to gether and the fly wheel key was NOT sheared and the timing plate bolts were tight. I'm lost as to what it could be, I'm not an electrical expert but maybe a cdi? Also I am going to start a build thread soon so look for that, I'm not cutting any corners on this build so that should be interesting. Thanks guys!

I got the chlutch cover off and the bottom case is fucked pretty good and so is the clutch cover. The grear behind the clutch that the kick stater spins has gone out, I'll pull the clutch off and see what I can figure out.

So I bought a new shee and rode it a few times, ran beautiful. It's got +5 timing, pod filters and that's it. But here's the problem I guess the bottom end was gone through previously because the last guy had accidentally cracked it working on it. I went to silver lake to take it on its first big adventure, the 2 simple mods on it help out to say the least. once I got on the dunes I shut it off to get a few pics then when I started it up it litterly ran in reverse, I shit it off again and it was fine. It did this almost every time I started it back up, note that previous to this it had never done it. I had done 2 full laps of the dunes then on the end of the second I heard a retteling from my bottom end kick start erea, I emedietly shit it off. I started it back up, my kick starter caught them slammed forward, my bottom case and my black case on the right hand side both cracked and puked out oil. So I guess what I'm trying to figure out is what to do now. Thanks

Ok so I haven't been on the HQ in a couple days but I thought I felt the need to start a new post. It has Aboslutly NOTHING to do with banshees but I thought it was pretty funny Ok so I'm I the 10th grade and last Sylvester I had cooking class/home ec, and one day I was cooking potatoes or some shit and all the black kids crowded around the window and yelled "oh shit! It's a rat!" So I went over to the door, pushed every one out of the way, ran out there and stomped the hell out of it! (Normally I wear boots to school) but any ways I got blood all over my Vans and the teacher wouldn't let me back in the class room... I had to get the janitors to clean it up off the floor, washed my shoes and all that good stuff and needless to say I still get shit about it from my friends. It turns out it was a baby mole but what ever, lmao.
