  1. Putting a hotrods crank in my shee, removed key from stock crank, any tips to installing into new crank? Don't want to damage it.
  2. Okay what about namura with pd cool head 22cc domes?
  3. Fly wheel is tight. Going to start the break down Wednesday to split the cases and see if it needs a crank.
  4. It's all good, I now know where to start looking to get it running right.
  5. I will check the fly wheel!
  6. Really bummed , literally first decent ride since I bought it in October. Already issues!
  7. Orings new and just repacked silencers
  8. Before splitting the cases to check crank bearings, anything other symptoms that would point to crank bearings or do you think crank bearings for sure?
  9. Had the shee out today and was running great for about 3 hours , riding on and off. In the afternoon I had gotten stuck at the top of a hill climb, after getting it turned around I shut it off, and then I couldn't get it to start, let it sit for about 10 min and it fired right up, but was making a noticeable rattle that sounded like it was coming from the left pipe. I checked all bolts and all was tight and no leaks. The shee ran perfect all day, starting on first kick every time. Both plugs seemed good like they were. Any ideas on were to start diagnoses?
  10. Yeah it all makes sense, I installed the 22cc domes , all went well, Thanks tricked carbine ! I am putting it back together tomorrow and doin a compression test and then hopefully start on the jetting process, also noticed the gaskets on reed valve were splitting so it was probably sucking air there as well , so I bought them today and will replace!

  12. Great ! Thanks zilla
  13. No pitting that I can see. Just burnt blackish residue. Should I clean that off, if so with what.
  14. Recently purchased a banshee a few weeks ago, and from advice from folks on here I've been going over everything making sure its 100%. The compression was showing 175 and 170 with a cool head. From what I was told it was due to the domes that were in it. I purchased 22cc domes to get the compression down to run pump fuel. I have only started it up with the fuel that was in it, and rode it up my lane and back. It runs great, starts first kick. I just pulled the head off to swap the domes and found the top of each piston to be blackish brown burnt marks that do scrap off with your finger. The sides of the pistons through exhaust port look fine with no visible scarring, and same for the cylinder walls, from what I can see. My question is was this caused by previous owner running pump fuel with such high compression and can I clean the tops of the cylinders with something? and is this something that I should be worried about after doing the 22cc domes swap. It had 20cc domes in it currently. 2001 banshee FMF Fatty pipes, power core 2 silencers V force reed valve Pro design 2 into 1 foam filter PD coolhead TORS eliminated Keihin carbs
  15. After cleaning the pipes I see the o rings are in place and its 1 per pipe.... Just bought this and haven't rode it much need to do a few things first. Previous owner said he was running 50:1. I'm planning on running 40:1 , possibly the jetting causing the oil in pipe?
  16. Good deal, glad I pulled them off, I'll get new o rings and install . Thanks Chuck!
  17. I just removed my fatty pipes for cleaning and after pulling the springs and removing I did not find an o ring to seal them to the motor, is this normal? Also the left pipe when I turned it over had a good bit of black oil that came pouring out? Anything I should be concerned with? Thanks
  18. How do you check squish ?
  19. Question do they usually come with the replacement o rings ? If not where can I get these? Surfrjag how much and where you located?
  20. I am going to be ordering 21 or 22 cc Domes this week for my Banshee. I already have the Tank and plastics off, so I have great access to the Cool Head. Anyone have any videos of the correct way to swap the domes and the dos and dont's. If no video maybe a run down of exactly what I should be doing? My goal is to get the compression down in order to safely run pump Fuel. 21. Good deal. Appreciate all the advice. I am thinking on getting the domes switched so I can run just 93 octane pump fuel. I have been doing some research on here and that seems like my best option. Any opinions on this?
  22. Keihin. Should I be using each choke ?
  23. Okay appreciate all the input.
  24. Ok will do, can you use 93 octane and add a octane booster? What is the down side of running 93 octane with this setup?
