So I want to give BansheeHQ a huge thanks for helping me out with this issue. I know most of you guys must face palm yourselves everytime I ask a dumbass question but hopefully I wont be on here looking for help for awhile. Split the cases on my shee and discovered I broke some tranny gears. with all the parts in the mail i look to be on the bike by next week. Also i want to thank all those who have posted threads on how to split the cases and put videos on youtube. Ill post a start up video once everythings together.
Ill post pics when i get home. School internet is shat!

My dad won the first drag rabe ever geld ar friendship in his 1970 dodge challeneger. He's got the trophy to probe it haha. Got a flywheel or stator laying around your willing to get rid of cheap?
-
I live in Steubenville ohio. I topped it off with oil and it still made the noise. I got frustrated and slept on it. Drained the oil next morning and it was all black. Didn't really smell burnt though.

I didn't have the cover off while I made that video. Yes it was in nuetral. I did however start the bike with the flywheel cover off and nothing looked like it was out of whack the sound seemed to becomming from inside the cases in the rear of the motor. But what would you do first if it was your bike before splitting the cases?
-
I will, I pulled flywheel cover it didn't seem loose I couldn't wiggle it with my hand. How would I check to see if it's the flywheel key
-
I know but I'm just trying to gather as much input as possible before k start this tear down
-
With the bike on its basically the same noise but constant and much louder
-
If anyone hasn't a clue I'll post a video of it with the bike on but I have all the fluids drained currently

Here's the noise while the bIkes off.

Lol no tranny oil and the previous owner claims it was a 30 hour old rebuild from crank up. It makes a weird ass screeching/ grinding noise when I start it. It almost sounds like a dieing cat.
I can't afford to have the head honed unless it's relatively cheap. I'm working at Wendy's and I'm 17 I'm lucky enough to find a guy to split the cases for a case of natty light lol thank god for friends
-
previous owner claims its bored .40 over i guess im going to find out. ill probably do rings as well maybe pistons. anything else that would compliment the bike? im saving up for pipes fucking retard before me put a 2:1 system on it. from what ive read it really robs it of the top end

i ran me shee without oil for about 2 miles DOH! i plan on replacing gaskets and all bearings if nothing else looks like it needs attention. But i figure while im in the bottom end i want to make sure ill never have to split the cases again while i own my shee. What do you guys recommend without breaking the bank? im mainly looking to never have to split the cases again but is there anything that has got a good bang for the buck while im into it? all input is welcome

Here's a video of the noise while the bike is off. I can make one of it on but it's basically the same noise just constantly and much louder
-
Pulled flywheel cover and started it. Sound seems to be coming from the inside of the case and in neutral the sprocket looks like it's trying to turn. I'm pulling clutch cover next to see if anythings loose.
ANY IDEAS?

Sorry I just spent all yesterday afternoon and this afternoon doing chassis bearings I figured I'd ask the forumn guys before diving head first. What kind of bearing are we talking here? Think I'll have to split the cases?
-
I can make a video tomorrow of the noise if it helps

So I ran my banshee for about 3 miles about 1 mile in it started making a strange noise intermittently I pulled in the clutch and it continued to happen intermittently maybe once every 500 feet. I dismissed it as the chain and babied it to my house. I put new chain and sprockets on and wheel and swing arm bearings. I start it up and I want to call it a different noise but it's definitely comming from the same place. Left side of the engine somewhere inside the flywheel cover I do believe. Checked the oil and it was low. I topped it off and started it up and it still makes it. It sounds like a high pitch rattLing/screech.
Only other thing I noticed was when I put the chain on the sprocket seemed hard to move then would be easy then get tighter. I thought I was just pulling the chain at an angle and not straight back.
The bike is making this noise in neutral pleae help

Im replacing a bunch of bearnings on my shee. Now I already made the mistake of buying wheel bearings and hub bearings DOH! Is there a difference between the A Arm bushings and bearings? Is it an either or thing or do I need bushings and bearings?

I didn't realize it just pulled off. But unplugging it and plugging it back in really did the trick
got any good stories
