  1. Also would bad reeds cause this kind of problem down low but not past mid throttle.
  2. Been trying to get my engine tuned properly. Starts in first or second kick cold. Carbs have been synced as the slide indicators both line up in the carb window. Csrbs are 1.5 turns out. issue is that right cylinder doesn't get warmed up like left cylinder. Right cylinder as less exhaust ( also is cooler) and doesn't kick in unless I get past half throtttle then they both even out. Also if I put the choke on the right side noticeably kicks in as the pipes end up sounding the same st idle I really only hear the left pipe hit. Even after a few mins the right pipe doesn't get hot if I let it idle. Riding past half throttle the banshee acts like a banshee. Carbs have both been cleaned out as well as jets.
  3. Checked conpression today. Left cylinder 105 and right cylinder 100. 2002 stock with fmf fatties. Elevation is 1000 ft. When is time to replace?
  4. Ive been trying to sync the carbs. I was able to get it to idle fine and the engine seems to even out after about half throttle. Today it started up first kick with no choke. I ordered some new pilot jets 27s and 30s. Also ordered a carb sync tool. Cant seem to get the two synced as it seems the left cylinder pushes out more smoke. Now if i turn on the choke they seem to even out as the smoke out of exhaust comes out more even. Past half throttle is rides like a banhsee should. I messed with the idle screws on top of tors which eliminated the backfire so far and the quad will stay idling forever. Seems the left slide opens earlier than the right. Any tips for carb syncing?
  5. Already put fresh plugs. Still the same.
  6. Floats are correct. I did the carb separate.
  7. Also I started it up this morning and once it starts both cylinders seem to hit and smoke even then after a few seconds the right goes back down with little smokey.
  8. Some smoke on right side at start up. It is getting fuel. I can get it to idle for a few min before it dies. I can gas it at the beginning but then it will want to bog and die. I switched spark plug caps and the right side is still not running right. I'm pretty pissed as it was running good but really rich before. Feels like very little power from right cylinder like left is doing all the work.
  9. No the slides are right and both line up in the carb window.
  10. So I pulled my carbs to clean them and see what jets are in them as I just bought it. I'm going to higer elevation and the banshee was running rich so I went down 1 clip to 2nd. Now the right cylinder is backfiring and only the left engine gets hot. What could it be all of a sudden was running good before this but a little rich. Choke tube is connected.
  11. So bad news. I went down to clip 2 leaner and now I'm having problems keeping it running. Did not change anything else. It will only start choke we here's before after first start it didn't need it. Any ideas.
  12. Pulled the carbs. Main jet is 280 pilot is 25 and needle is 3 clip as is 1 3/4 out.
  13. I'm pulling them out today. He told me he mostly rode at glamis.
  14. Hey everyone. I just got a 2002 banshee. It's has Fmf fatty gold pipes and toomey silencers. Banshee idles great after warm up and really gets going. Jetting seems off thought Haven't taken out carbs but bike seems to bog or want to stall below half throttle unless I ease it on. Once I'm passed that it really gets going. Plugs are black but they haven't fouled. I plan on going riding up in el mirage which is 2000 ft above where I'm at. Also if I turn on the choke half way the quad will turn off. That's a rich condition on the pilot and maybe needle right? At wot the quad really hauls though. What would be proper jetting for el mirage. Elevation is around 3000 and temp will be in the mid 90s.
